Drink More Water
The skin stores around 12% water. It is important to maintain this amount with the correct amount of good fat to keep your skin from getting acne. You need to drink around 2 quarts of distilled water every day. If you are not drinking this amount, just start increasing the amount that you do drink.
Drinking water helps you get rid of toxins in the blood and around your cells. By drinking water, you will urinate more and more toxins will be eliminated. You will sweat more and toxins will be eliminated.
The cleaner your blood the healthier your skin will be and your will not have a problem with acne.
Use glass containers when buying distilled or reverse osmosis water. Try to avoid using plastic containers for water since plastic containers contain chemicals, left in the container walls during manufacturing, which leaches out into the water.
If you are drinking fresh juices, you will also be getting water from these juices. Drinking sodas is not drinking water. If you are eating fresh vegetables you are getting distilled water. So the more fruits and vegetables you eat the less water you need to drink.
Here’s a few things you do to help you drink more water or to make the water healthier. Find a 16 or 32 oz glass container and add distilled water. Then add one of the following nutrients:
* A few drops of Alkalife. This solution changes the pH of the water from 7 to 8 and also activates the water with its electrolytes – sodium and potassium.
* Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the water. Do not add sugar. A few drops of honey may be ok.
* Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the water and add up to one teaspoon of powdered MSM. MSM is excellent for the skin disorders such as acne. It makes the skin cells more flexible, allowing more nutrients to go into and out of the cells, and its anti-inflammatory. MSM is also excellent in activating peristaltic action and will prevent constipation.
* Put 2 oz of mangosteen into the water. Mangosteen is an over all body tonic. It works on all parts of the body and will help keep you regular.
You can also choose to add your favorite nutritional flavor to give water an additional value.
Chose one of these natural additives for your water and drink this water little by little all day long. This is one more thing you can do to get rid of acne, improve your skin texture or to keep the nice skin you already have.
Get Some Sunshine
One more thing you can do for your skin is to get more natural light.
Expose your face to plenty of sun and air. This helps your skin to heal faster. But don’t purposely place your face in the sun, but remaining in the shade and open outdoors gives you plenty of sun and air.
At least 20 – 40 minutes a day in the outdoors is necessary for you to get sufficient vitamin D for you daily needs.

Water and Sunlight Helps to Clear Acne
Functions of Minerals on Skin
Minerals important to the look and health of the skin include selenium, copper, and zinc. Selenium, whether used as a topical solution or taken in the form of a dietary supplement may play a role in the prevention of skin cancer. Copper, zinc and Vitamin C work together to form elastin, which helps to support skin, keeping it firm and healthy.
Zinc is critical to the entire body's immune and repair achieve result. Zinc is contained in vitamin a + antioxidant complex and bio-essence nighttime calcium complex.
Zinc levels multiple to a peak on approximately the seventh day following the injury and return to normal at about the fourteenth day. Zinc saturation of an injury does not achieve the same levels as younger skin and overall systemic (bodily) zinc levels decline. Zinc is required for collagen production and elastin ( a protein in connective tissue )synthesis.
It is required for DNA repair. Zinc is required for DNA duplication, which is required for cell division. It is required for the production of superoxide dismutase, a powerful skin antioxidant.
Selenium - Studies are looking to see if this mineral plays a role in skin cancer prevention. Good sources in your diet include whole-grain cereals, seafood, garlic and eggs.
Copper - Copper is a mineral that has been linked to elastin, which is what supports skin structure. Too much copper in the diet is dangerous.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid - A powerful antioxidant, hundreds of times more potent that either vitamin C or E, alpha-lipoic acid may turn out to be a super boost for aging skin. What makes it so special, say skin experts, is its ability to penetrate both oil and water, affecting skin cells from both the inside and the outside of the body. Most other antioxidants can do one but not both.
Sodium regulates fluid and acid base balance; sodium is necessary for hydrochloric acid production in the stomach.
While beneficial for limiting skin problems associated with aging, daily supplementation with a high-potency multiple vitamin and mineral can help address other body areas prone to aging and environmental damage.
Folic Acid - necessary for DNA synthesis and cell replication; helps prevent birth defects; makes red blood cells; heals wounds; builds muscle; produces chemicals for brain and nervous system. Our combination products with this vitamin.
Iron plays major role in hemoglobin production; helps deliver energy to all parts of the body; removes carbon dioxide from body; promotes healthy immune system; improves mental functioning. Our combination products with this mineral.
Sulphur is part of the amino acid chemical structure and a major component of connective tissue in skin, hair, nails, and cartilage. It is a catalyst of many biochemical processes, which also forms building blocks of cell membranes. Sufficient amounts of dietary sulphur are necessary for strong, healthy hair. It can be found in different types of cabbage, eggs, milk, and numerous animal products.
Bromine is another element that is probably not necessary for good health and no deficiency of this element has ever been documented. Bromine is suspected to be an essential trace element in red algae and possibly humans. No specific role for this element in human health has been identified. Bromine is found in the mollusk pigment "royal purple", but its purpose in that pigment is not known

Information about Nail Fungus Cure
Antifungal lacquer. If you have a mild to moderate infection of nail fungus, your doctor may prefer to prescribe an antifungal nail polish called ciclopirox (Penlac). You paint it onto your infected nails and surrounding skin once a day. After seven days, you wipe the piled-on layers clean with alcohol and begin fresh applications. Daily use of Penlac for about one year has been shown to help clear nail fungal infections, but researchers found that it cured the infections in less than 10 percent of people using it.
Prescription nail fungus treatments include Sporanox, Lamisil, Griseofulvin and Penlac. Unfortunately all of these treatments have limited effectiveness, and can have severe life threatening side effects. For this reason, many people choose to live with nail fungus rather than treat it.
Ozone is one of the most effective active ingredients used in our nail fungus treatment. This bio-oxidive is made up of 3 oxygen atoms, and we use it to flood the infected area with oxygen because ozone has exceptional anti–microbial characteristics.
Keep your nails cut straight across. If nails are hard to cut, soften by soaking in salt water (use 1 teaspoon per gallon of water and then dry well). Keep feet dry and well ventilated. Be careful with artificial nails and be selective about choosing your manicurist. Ask about how they sterilize their instruments. See a podiatrist or your health care provider if you see signs of fungus.
Toenail fungus often becomes a chronic condition and if it is not painful many people do not get treatment. People with chronic illness like diabetes should see a doctor if they notice changes in their nails as it may be and indication of more serious problems. If the nail becomes very thick and makes wearing shoes and walking painful you should see a doctor. The nail can be trimmed and filed down carefully, either at home or by a foot specialist (podiatrist).
We should keep cutting the nail back and clean the dead tissue from under the nail thoroughly. There may be little nail left. When the new nail grows, let it grow. We must continue the treatment until the nail is completely re-grown. Since toenails grow so slowly, the complete process will take a year or more. Lactobacilli taken internally is a beneficial bacteria needed to inhibit bad bacteria and fungus. The lack of sufficient friendly bacteria in the body can result in the growth of fungus under and around nails.
If the nail infection does not cause any of these problems, then doctors often discourage treatment because of the potential side effects, the need to monitor the blood throughout therapy and the high recurrence rate. Patients with liver or heart disease generally should not take these medications.
Onychomycosis of the finger nails can be treated by taking pills called griseofulvin. The pills must be taken for six months to one year and have side effects. These include headaches, nausea, and rare reversible liver damage. You can not drink alcohol if you are taking griseofulvin. A course of treatment costs approximately $350 and has a 50-70% chance of curing the condition.

Healthy Tips For Eye Care
Prevention is better than cure .This is applicable for eye health too. Eye care is better than eye cure. So do take good care of your eyes. This can be done by taking in lot of vitamins especially vitamin A into your diet. Other diets that are rich in minerals are also good to eyes .Some of the exercises can also ensure good eye health .
Eat lots of green, leafy veggies, says Lylas Mogk, M.D., an ophthalmologist who practices in Livonia, Mich. These include kale, collard greens and spinach, which are rich in lutein, an antioxidant that research shows may help preserve eye health and deter the risk of macular degeneration. Wolfberries, which are rich in zeaxanthin, also may be beneficial.
To protect the eyes from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, you need to make sure your regular glasses and sunglasses have 100% UV protection. “That is completely separate from any tint. The fact is that you can have clear lenses with UV coating that will protect you from the harmful rays of the sun,”
We can benefit from Vitamins A, E, and C for overall eye health care. Vitamin A may help reduce risks of night blindness and cataracts. For people who have Vitamin A deficiency, this deficiency has been implicated in blindness and corneal ulcers .For reducing the risk of macular degeneration and cataracts, Vitamin E plays an important role.
Pressure in glaucoma will be reduced when you take Vitamin C and it also helps slow age related degeneration and provides resistance to cataracts. Vitamins are rich source of antioxidants and they can help in eye health care because antioxidant helps fight the effects of oxidation that contributes to the destruction of healthy tissues and is strongly implicated in macular degeneration
Deficiency of vitamin A can lead to nightblindess, xerophthalmia including dryness of eyes and corneal ulcer formation leading to blindness. Vitamin A helps to prevent the progression of age related macular degeneration (ARMD) which is the leading cause of blindness in the world.
Smokers and those consuming alcohol need extra vitamin supplement as tobacco prevents absorption of vitamin A and alcohol depletes it from the body. However smokers should avoid beta carotene supplement as it increases the risk of lung cancer in them.
Food sources: Carrot, mango, sweet potato, papaya, cod liver oil, liver, beef.
Another way to relax your eyes is to place sliced cucumber on the eyelids while you are relaxing in a bath tub.
Try taking short breaks after long hours of working. It is better to do few small eye exercises like blinking eyes several times, rolling the eyeballs while keeping your eyes closed.
Try looking at a distant object in your office or somewhere outside after long working hours. This would help you in improving your eyes focus.
Don't keep your eyes focused in one place for a sustained period of time. Change your focus. Look up out a window periodically when you're doing close work, to give your eyes a break. Sustained contraction of the eyes can also lead to a contraction of your upper body and neck. Don't stare continuously without breaks, as that causes tension on the visual system, and can contribute to vision problems.

Stretch marks remedies and removal
Stretch marks are lines on the skin that start off as raised red lines. They then turn purple, before slowly fading into flat silvery streaks. The medical name for this type of mark is stria. Stretch marks happen when the skin is stretched a lot over a short period of time, such as during pregnancy.
Stretch marks can also occur from prolonged use of oral or topical corticosteroids. They are also a feature of the disease Cushing's syndrome, where increased adrenal cortical activity i.e. excessive circulating cortisol is implicated in their development. However, different people are affected by stretch marks differently and the severity and development of lesions appear to depend greatly on individual factors. Once again, this suggests a genetic component.
Stretch marks occur in the dermis, the elastic middle layer of skin that allows it to retain its shape. However, when constantly stretched, the dermis can break down leaving behind stretch marks. Stretch marks often appear on the breast and abdomen during pregnancy. The reason is partly hormonal. During pregnancy, hormones have the job of softening the collagen ligaments of the pelvis, so that the tissues can stretch easily during childbirth. Unfortunately, the skin collagen softens as well, allowing stretch marks to form easily.
The true cause of stretch marks is hormones. That's right, hormonal influences are the cause. How can I support this fact? Well, when people gain weight, our hormones are produced and metabolized by fat cells. Hormones resemble fat and cholesterol, so when we gain and lose weight it affects the hormones in our body, and also the hormones in our skin.
At first, stretch marks may show up as reddish or purplish lines that may appear indented and have a different texture from the surrounding skin. Fortunately, stretch marks often turn lighter and almost disappear over time. But the fact that stretch marks usually fade and become less noticeable over time can be little consolation if you plan to spend most of your summer in a bathing suit.
So pregnant women are the most obvious candidates for stretch marks, but the next groups at risk are teenagers undergoing growth spurts during adolescence and women who have put on a lot of weight rapidly. Pregnant women start to develop marks on the abdomen during the second half of pregnancy as the skin stretches to accomodate the growing baby. However, besides the abdomen, stretch marks commonly occur on the hips, breasts and buttocks due to either gaining or losing weight in these areas.
Regardless of their causes, all stretch marks follow a natural course of progression. Active lesions are the early lesions that consist mainly of fine elastic fibers. As the stretch marks age, the fibers become thicker and there is a decrease in the thickness of the dermal layer of the skin.
Some recent research has tried to link stretch mark formation to a group of steroids called glucocorticoids. The most common glucocorticoid is cortisol. Research has proven that with elevated levels of cortisol in your body, your body tends to gain weight. This is because when your body senses that it is under stress, it releases more cortisol. Things that can cause your body to stress include not only your normal every day work and life stresses, but also pregnancy, adolescent growth spurts, and weightlifting. Improper nutrition, excessive caffeine intake and smoking are additional causes of body stress.
Creams containing vitamin E are often recommended, and in the Caribbean cocoa butter is used to remove scars with varying levels of success. Creams are available from the pharmacist or health and beauty shops.
Cosmetic surgery to remove stretch marks is available. However, this can be uncomfortable and is usually expensive. There's no guarantee that it will solve the problem either.

Ringworm effects on the skin
Ringworm is a fungal infections of the skin resulting in raised red swellings or lines that resemble burrowing worms; includes the diseases known as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm or the scalp.
Ringworm is not caused by a worm. It is caused by a fungus. The kinds of fungi (plural of fungus) that cause ringworm live and spread on the top layer of the skin and on the hair. They grow best in warm, moist areas, such as locker rooms and swimming pools, and in skin folds.
Although the world is full of yeasts, molds, and fungi, only a few cause skin problems. These agents are called the dermatophytes, which means "skin fungi." Skin fungi can only live on the dead layer of keratin protein on top of the skin. They rarely invade deeper into the body and cannot live on mucous membranes, such as those in the mouth or vagina.
Body ringworm (tinea corporis) may be caused by Trichophyton, Microsporum, or Epidermophyton. The infection generally produces round patches with pink scaly borders and clear areas in the center. Sometimes the rash is itchy. Body ringworm can develop anywhere on the skin and can spread rapidly to other parts of the body or to other people with whom there is close bodily contact.
Ringworm is very mildly contagious. It can be caught from domestic animals (especially dogs and cats) as well as most farm animals. The infection can be caught from the animal directly, or from anything the animal rubs against. Ringworm can also be caught from other humans, both by direct contact and by prolonged contact with flakes of shed skin.
Ringworm of the scalp may start as a small sore that resembles a pimple before becoming patchy, flaky, or scaly. It may cause some hair to fall out or break into stubbles. It can also cause the place where the infection is to become swollen, tender, and red.
Anyone can get Ringworm . Scalp Ringworm often strikes young children; outbreaks have been recognized in schools, day-care centers, and infant nurseries . School athletes are at risk for scalp Ringworm, Ringworm of the body, and foot Ringworm; there have been outbreaks among high school wrestling teams . Children with young pets are at increased risk for Ringworm of the body.
There are several other skin conditions that can mimic the ring-like appearance of ringworm. None of these, however, are serious. They include eczema, contact dermatitis, psoriasis and seborrhea. If treatment for ringworm fails, your doctor may consider these other possibilities.
Scalp and beard infections may cause patches of baldness. In scalp infections, the lymph nodes at the back of the neck may become swollen and tender. Inflammation and scaling are usually fairly mild and may look like a patch of dandruff.
Diagnosis is usually made based on the appearance of the typical ringworm rash. Cultures, especially scalp cultures for tinea capitis, can be done though. Topical steroids are a usual first treatment most parents use, but this can change the appearance of ringworm, so be sure to mention to your Pediatrician if you have been applying any topical creams to your child's rash.
