Skin Care Tips - Coffee

Coffee and skin care? It might surprise you to learn that in 2006 in the United States over 140 skin care products containing caffeine were launched compared to just 21 in 2003.

Coffee had a hard time of it in the 20th century while the U.S. Food and Drug Administration waffled over whether it was good or bad for you. As we move solidly into the 21st century, more indications of coffee's beneficial properties are surfacing, and nowhere is that more evident than in the lucrative skin care market.

Primarily, coffee and caffeine are finding their way into skin lotions and creams because of antioxidant properties and tightening and firming qualities. Caffeine applied to the skin operates in three ways - as an antioxidant, a diuretic and a vasoconstrictor. Among others, Avon, Neuturogena and L'Oreal have included caffeine in some of their products.

For years, caffeine has been used in products sold to reduce cellulite. It's clear that caffeine dehydrates fat cells by somehow energizing them which in turn causes the sodium/potassium component of the cells to vacate. Consequently, water disappears as well. Bottom line - skin on buttocks and thighs becomes smoother.

Caffeine's vaso-constricting characteristic also makes it a favorite ingredient in eye gels for reducing puffiness and dark circles as well as tightening skin around the eyes. Of course, nothing eliminates cellulite or troubled skin around the eyes completely. The best you can hope for is noticeable improvement, perhaps only for a few hours.

With the explosion in coffee based skin products, it now is seen in body scrubs, face creams and fragrances. A number of products even smell like coffee and contain ground coffee intended as an exfoliate. Some purveyors have even gone so far as to suggest that the absorption of caffeine through the skin will yield the sort of alertness you can expect from drinking coffee.

Not so fast say the dermatologists. None of the products harbor concentrations sufficient to produce the jolt one might hope for from a cup of java. Moreover, absorption is through the skin slow, so it's questionable whether enough of coffee's stuff can penetrate to enhance alertness. Infusing the coffee aroma in products, is thought, on the other hand, to stimulate perkiness by association.

Some promising studies on mice suggest that the caffeine in coffee may kill off skin cancer cells on radiated animals. So far, the results appear promising, but cannot, as yet, be translated to humans. However, many sunscreens do contain caffeine since it has been shown to have some sun blocking effects.

A few folks are even suggesting that investment in expensive skin care potions is unnecessary. It's claimed that you can receive the same benefits by concocting your own home brewed coffee soaps and body scrubs from used coffee grounds. Formulas are even offered.

Hey, now you can shower with your espresso!

The 4-Step Guide to Basic Skin Care

Introduction

To properly care for your skin you need to follow the daily 4-step skin care routine, from the right way to wash your face to the best moisturizers and UV protection. It is also very important to know your skin type as this will dictate how you care for your skin.

Step 1: Cleanse

Cleanse with a good cleanser that your skin reacts well with and find the correct oil mix for your skin type to stop clogging or drying of the skin. Generally cleanse only at night and splash with lukewarm water in the morning to remove excess oils from your nightly moisturizing. Avoid washing your face with hot or cold water which can cause broken capillaries. Don't over-cleanse the skin.

The best way to wash your face is with warm water to loosen the dirt and clogged pores. Then use a small amount of the cleanser before rinsing with lukewarm water. Make sure you take off your makeup with a proper makeup remover.

Step 2: Exfoliate

Most women skip this step in their weekly skin care routine while men exfoliate daily when they shave. This may be one of the reasons a man's skin looks more youthful than a woman's. Here are several ways to exfoliate the skin:

Microdermabrasion

Scrubbing removes the top layer of dead skin cells which dulls your complexion. Exfoliating the skin once a week with a microdermabrasion kit keeps skin glowing all year-round. Use a gentle scrub with tiny grains to avoid tearing of the skin.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can take years off your face making the hour wait well worth it. You can use a monthly peel or over-the-counter peels that work over the course of a month.

Retinoids

Retinoids also work by removing the top layer of dead skin cells. However, they also generate collagen in the skin which increases the skins structure and fiber. Aging creates lines and large pores, retinoids reduce them. Most skin care experts regard retinoids as a miracle skin saver.

Step 3: Moisturize

A basic principle of beauty is that everyone, no matter what the skin type, should moisturize - the only exceptions are those with acne. Moisturizers seal moisture into the skin so your skin will tell you when it is needed. When it's tight it's crying out for moisture. Be careful not to over-moisturize, this can clog pores.

Step 4: Apply Sunscreen

Sunscreen is the most important step in your skincare regimen when you consider that sun damage is the number 1 cause of wrinkles and skin cancer. Use sunscreen even in winter and on cloudy days. You can use two moisturizers: one for the night and one for the day (with UV protection). Don't use moisturizers with sunscreen at night. Make sure the sunscreen contains one of the following active ingredients - titanium dioxide, zinc oxide or Parsol 1789 (avobenzene).

Additional Tips

Should you use a toner?

Toners remove all remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt. However, a good cleanser can do this which explains why many beauty experts are against the use of toners. In the end, it really comes down to personal choice and how your skin feels after using a toner.

Are eye creams necessary?

Beauty experts are strongly divided over eye creams. Some believe that the very thin skin around the eye is susceptible to wrinkles and therefore needs creams to 'thicken' and strengthen this area. Others regard the daily skin care regimen around the eyes as sufficient.

Conclusion

These days people seem to have no choice but to confront any issues involving their health. When these issues involve the health of their largest and most exposed organ, their skin, it is no wonder that they tend to be at the mercy of countless "expert" opinions and the accompanying products. What I have tried to show here is that, like most things in life, it doesn't have to be complicated, especially when it comes to basic skin care. By keeping to the simple regime above, and consulting qualified practitioners when in doubt, there is no reason why you can't have healthy and glowing skin all your life.

Nutrients and Tips for Healthy Skin

" Exercise is also good for your whole body, but particularly for your skin. It helps in improving and increasing skin tone and maintaining its elasticity. Exercise also amplify the blood flow to your skin and give it a healthy glow.

" Avoid toxic skin care products. Be careful of the deadly chemicals used in all most all stylish skin care products. Most products have cancer-causing ingredients that pass through the skin and finally enter your bloodstream.

Maintaining healthy skin is not a tough task. It is simple; all you need to do is follow above mentioned tips and make sure to have proper nutrients as a regular routine in your life. Follow these tips for healthy skin and you will see improvements over the course of several weeks.

Know Your Skin Type

Are you sensitive? Combination? Dry? Oily? Normal? No, this has nothing to do with your personality! Every person’s skin is different. The best way to know how to take good care of your skin is to first determine what skin type you have. If you are unsure about your skin type, a good test is to take a dry lens-cleaning paper and place it on different areas of your face, 15 minutes after washing and drying. IF you are a dry skin type, the paper will not stick on your face. Oily? The paper will stick to your face or absorb oil that you can see on the paper. If the paper adheres on your nose, forehead, chin but nowhere else- you have combination or normal skin type. Most people have some irregularities with their skin and should follow a good cleansing regimen.

Normal skin- you’re very lucky! A simple cleansing routine: use a soap-free cleanser twice a day. Cleanser should not contain harsh detergents, soap or alcohol that can dry out your skin or irritate it. Use a non-comedogenic/ dermatologist tested light moisturizer on the face while skin is damp. Use sunscreen daily. A moisturizing or exfoliating mask may be applied once a week.

Oily skin- sebum, the lipid-rich protective natural oil contained in your skin cells, is on high-activity for those with oily skin. Good news: naturally moisturized skin. Bad news: tendency for acne, large pores and shininess. Cleansing routing: use a cleanser with salicylic acid (which decreases sebum production) twice a day. May be followed up with alcohol-based toner containing salicylic acid. Alcohol-based toners dry the skin, so use carefully. Moisturizing is not normally necessary for oily skin, but if needed non-comedogenic, oil-free moisturizer is recommended. Use oil-free sunscreen daily. Optional clay/mud mask weekly.

NOTE: there are a plethora of strong vitamin A creams available for ultra-oily skin. These Retinoids require a prescription from your dermatologist.

Combination skin- get to know your T-Zone! The T-zone (forehead and nose area) is typically oily skin and the cheeks tend to be dry skin. This is combination skin. Cleansing routine: wash skin with mild cleanser two times a day. Soap-free, non-alcohol, free from harsh detergents cleanser is your best bet. Look for one containing salicylic acid for the oily areas. Use anti-dandruff shampoo if you are noticing a yeast buildup on your scalp or eyebrow areas that can cause itching or irritation. Anti-dandruff shampoos are most effective when used every other day until condition is under control, followed by twice-a-week applications. Apply oil-free moisturizer only to dry areas of the skin after cleansing. Use sunscreen daily! Mask recommendation: mix it up! Clay mask for oily areas and moisturizing for dry areas.

NOTE: combination skin can be a symptom of seborrhea, seborrheic eczema and seborrheic dermatitis. Overproduction of oil on the face and scalp leads to this type of skin condition. Check with your dermatologist for more information.

Dry skin- dry skin may add to premature aging, so don’t forget your moisturizer! Cleansing routine: wash your skin once or twice daily with a soap-free, moisturizing cleanser. Do not use toners/ cleansers with alcohol and stay away from soap and harsh detergents. Use a moisturizer that is non-greasy and noncomedogenic, may contain natural emollients for added moisture, including dimethicone and cyclomethicone or colloidal oatmeal. Once a week moisturizing mask is optional. Use sunscreen and drink a gallon of water a day! NOTE: be sensitive to the products you use in the shower or for washing your clothes- they may cause further drying of the skin.

Sensitive skin
- if you have harsh, stinging or irritating reactions to moisturizers, soaps or other skin care products, you have sensitive skin. It is highly advisable that those with sensitive skin refrain from using any products with alcohol, acids, harsh detergents, fragrances, preservatives, colorings and make-up. Always look for hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic listed on a label when searching for beauty products. Cleansing routine: wash face twice daily with sensitive skin (alcohol-free, soap-free) cleanser. Apply hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, noncomedogenic moisturizer while damp. Use hypoallergenic, oil-free sunscreen daily!

Keeping Normal Skin in Top Condition

Do you pay a good chunk of your precious hard-earned dollars just to look good and maintain your skin in its best condition? Can beautiful skin be achieved solely by using commercially prepared beauty products? Do all effective beauty products come in a bottle or a tube?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you really need to read this article. Despite all the manufacturers' advertisements claiming otherwise, having and maintaining a beautiful skin does not always come from a bottle or a tube. It also need not be expensive.

Looking good is just about any woman's (or man's) dream. However, this might be as elusive as finding that fabled pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! With all the harmful elements that surround us every day and the stressful nature of modern living, having a beautifully radiant skin can truly be a great challenge.

But Mother Nature has always been so kind to us. Take a look around and you will see the multitude of natural products that you can use in your regular skin care regimen. And by the way, these natural products are way less expensive and are definitely safer and more effective compared to their commercially prepared counterparts!

Wondering what these natural products might be? You want a clue? Well, for starters, they can be found almost everywhere - in your kitchen, in the grocery store and in the fruits and vegetable section of the supermarket, to name a few! You got it right. We are talking about all those wonderful fruits and vegetables!

Fruits and vegetables do help a lot in keeping our skin smooth and supple. They help us ward off infections so that our skin remains blemish free. They contain essential nutrients, which can help give our skin that rosy glow indicative of good health. Fruits and vegetables not only taste good, they can also be used in our beauty routines!

For those of you who have normal skin, you are indeed truly blessed! Keep your skin in top condition by using any of the following face packs, which are made from 100% natural ingredients (our mighty fruits and vegetables).

. To give your skin that extra nice glow, try extracting the juice from half an orange or a piece of tomato. Apply this on your face using a lightly massaging action and leave it on for a few minutes. Wash your face with cold water and wipe dry afterwards.

. Another option is to gently rub the inner peel of a papaya onto your face if you wish your skin to take on that extra healthy glow. It is always best to use the peel fresh but you can always store extra pieces in the refrigerator for future use. Just remember to keep them in an airtight container and use them within 2 days.

. Rejuvenating your normal skin can be done in a jiffy! Simply grind one small carrot and extract its juice. Apply the juice on your face, let dry and then rinse with cold water.

. As we grow older, it is inevitable that lines and wrinkles will appear. However, we can delay these from showing! One option is to use cabbage. Simply grind half a cup (approximately 50 grams) of cabbage and extract its juice. Apply it on your face using a gently massaging action. Leave it on for a few minutes, allow it to dry and rinse afterwards with cold water.

. An apple a day helps keep the doctor away. It also helps slow down the development of fine lines and wrinkles! So the next time you eat an apple, be sure to save some peel and use it as a skin cleanser. Rub the inside of the peel onto your face using upward strokes and leave it on for a few minutes. Wash with cold water and pat dry afterwards.

Best Skin Cream - Anti Wrinkle

Our Skin

Our skin goes through many changes as we get older. One of the worst things we can expect upon getting older, is the appearance of wrinkles. No one wants to get them, but, sadly, with the all the unavoidable factors that are key to wrinkles appearing, such as sunlight; they are inevitable. Luckily, there are many products on the market that are made for the sole purpose of lessening wrinkles. However, with all different types available, it may be difficult to choose what the best and safest product is.

Ingredients Contained in Anti-Wrinkle Cream

Different creams contain different ingredients and it is crucial to know what each of these ingredients do before choosing that product. It is important to know your own body because you may have an allergy, or your skin may just not work with certain ingredients, causing redness and irritation around the treated area. Certain products that promise to reduce wrinkles may not be FDA approved and so, do more damage than good. It is important also to make sure that the product us clinically proven to work.

The Best Have Only the Best

The best anti-wrinkle skin creams will have the best ingredients. Generally, any product that uses natural ingredients will be better than those that use man-made ones. Natural oils are more rich in vitamins and work better as anti-oxidants; a key ingredient in reducing wrinkles. Organic oils are easier for the skin to absorb and are less harsh on the skin as a whole.

What to Look For

There are certain key ingredients to look for when choosing the best skin cream. A few to be aware of are:

• Ingredients that hydrate the skin

• Collagen production enhancing ingredients

• Natural products

• Ingredients that will work with your skin’s unique pH level

A combination of all of these ingredients will make for the best anti-wrinkle skin creams. Products such as, “Dermitage”, “Athena 7 Minute Lift” and “Hydroderm” contain most and generally all of these key ingredients in helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and will usually cost less than $100 as do most skin creams.

Skin Care Tips For Healthy, Beautiful Skin

Some people are more fortunate than others when it comes to how good their skin looks but how they achieve this is not a secret; just by following some basic information regarding skin care, then spending time each day carrying this out, means you can have more beautiful skin. For a long time now, cosmetic surgery seemed to be the preferred method but times are changing and women are learning that more natural techniques are available. The financial benefit of beauty care products over conventional cosmetic surgery is huge but there are also health benefits which any other type of cosmetic enhancement procedure cannot match.

The days of cold creams and the like are over with modern formulations light years ahead of what they once were. The importance of our skin cannot be stressed enough and like other areas of our body, requires a little care and attention.
The first step in skin care is making sure your skin is clean as pollution like dust, bacteria and make-up all take their toll, so the skin must be clean. Removing the dirt and other materials from your face requires the cleaner to be placed on a soft pad and gentle massaged into the skin finally being removed with warm water.

To ensure your PH balance is not disrupted, you will need to use a tone after the cleanser has been applied. Lotions and moisturizers massaged into the skin help to reduce the effect of wrinkles and ensure the skin is more supple. Moisturizing beauty care products ensure that all the work you have just carried out to clean, tone and condition your skin does go to waste.

To ensure a more complete skin care cleansing experience and to remove dead skin cells, you will need to exfoliate or use a peel up to twice every week. This step means that you will need to cleanse and then use a toner on the skin otherwise the dead cells may not be completely removed.

Skin around the eye is very delicate and needs to be looked after so special beauty care product creams help alleviate the dark rings and puffiness that some people suffer ensuring the sin is much more supple and youthful looking. Water is another undervalued commodity that helps detoxify and improve the skin tone along with regular exercise and a good diet. It is important to remember that we are covered in skin from our head to our toes and rely on it to protect us, in order to make sure that we maintain the health of this organ we want to look after all of it.

Skin Care - Using Beauty Care Products

Some people are more fortunate than others when it comes to how good their skin looks but how they achieve this is not a secret; by performing some simple skin care techniques every day, results should be seen quite quickly. Whilst plastic surgery, liposuction and other invasive techniques have been incredibly popular in the past, mainly because they provide near instant results, that is no longer the case with modern beauty care. The financial benefit of beauty care products over conventional cosmetic surgery is huge but there are also health benefits which any other type of cosmetic enhancement procedure cannot match.

The problem has always been our image of beauty care products like cold cream and the anti-aging formulations. Today's products are able to do much more after the research that has been carried out and are an important addition to your personal care regime. We often forget that our skin is an organ that needs looking after as it has a difficult job to and needs regular help.

The first step in skin care is making sure your skin is clean as pollution like dust, bacteria and make-up all take their toll, so the skin must be clean. Gently massage your cleanser into your skin in circular motions using your fingertips and then rinse off with warm water but only pat your skin with a soft towel to dry it.

Each person's skin has its own pH balance and if you use a toner once you have cleansed your skin, it will re-establish your natural PH balance. To reduce the number of wrinkles and help make your skin soft and supple, use moisturizing creams or lotions once you have finished with the skin toner. Moisturizing also has the added bonus of locking in the moisture that can be lost without its use, so do not skimp on this beauty care product.

Once or twice weekly you should treat your skin with an exfoliant or natural peel to remove dead skin cells and to deep cleanse your skin as part of you skin care routine. This step means that you will need to cleanse and then use a toner on the skin otherwise the exfoliant may not be completely removed.

Skin around the eye is very delicate and needs to be looked after so special beauty care product creams help alleviate the dark rings and puffiness that some people suffer ensuring the sin is much more supple and youthful looking. Along with these simple steps above ensure you drink plenty of water, exercise regularly and eat a nutrient rich diet, all of which will help keep your skin looking youthful, radiant and beautiful. The health of your skin should not be underestimated, not just for vanity reasons but for our overall health as it is a barrier against the elements, pollution and disease.

" Stop smoking or if possible never start. You have to understand that skin is a large organ and it requires lot of circulation and smoking impairs that dramatically.

" Keep yourself away from both disturbing and environmental stress.

" Commit yourself to cleanse your face twice a day and put on the proper treatment product.

" Try to keep yourself well hydrated, by drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water per day. This particular activity helps in keeping your skin moist and supple.

" Don't ignore certain areas of the skin like heels, neck, as they too need moisturizing, and apply sun protection on your scalp and the tops of your feet.

Eating the Right Foods For Healthy Skin

Every one loves a beautiful skin and we all tend to look for ways to maintain our skin so it can be a healthy-looking one. Options for ensuring a healthy skin range from using cleansers to undergoing expensive facial surgeries. But it seems most dermatologist and skin care experts would generally agree that there are three ways that you could use in ensuring you have a healthy skin: knowing your skin type, treating any skin problems the moment you notice them, and following a daily skin regimen. You might be familiar with the use of facial wash, toner and moisturizing cream routine if your skin is prone to acne but you should know that there are also others, which could be in terms of your diet.

We know that are various kinds of foods, which have the natural potency of nourishing our bodies both inside the body and on the skin. Some things quickly come to your mind, which are fresh fruits and vegetables. In ancient times before the appearance of commercial skin care products in the market, traditional methods of cleansing the skin were used. At such a time facial cleansers, body cleansers and cotton balls were not available as such it was common for people to use herbs and other botanicals to keep their skin glowing. It seems some people having realized this benefits now look in their gardens and kitchens to find spices, juices, fruits and vegetables that would help improve the texture of their skins.

There are number of foods that are helpful in keeping your skin's moisture to prevent dryness. Almond is a very good example of foods that does that. Almond nuts are usually found in chocolates and salads; I guess you did not know they could remedy dry skin. When you mix almond powder with water, it forms a type oil that, if you apply on your skin would provide moisture and also fade away old acne scars. You love honey. Yeah everybody does, but did you also know it is good for your skin and your entire body? When you mix honey with water and apply it on your entire body it can improve your skin's glow and prevent dryness. Also you could take it a step further by mixing honey with milk, yogurt and pounded sesame seeds, this would ensure you a better complexion.

A natural method of preventing skin problems, which affect the face, is with the use of fenugreek leaves or boiled seeds. Apply a paste on the skin with water. Even if your preventive measures have failed to ensure a skin free of skin inflammations and itching, you can still find natural treatments right there in your kitchen. A good example of a natural treatment for skin problems such as irritation and itching is fresh apple juice. Apricot is also useful for this same purpose and a number of commercial skin care products in market contain this ingredient. When apricot is used raw, its juice is very effective in treating itching, sunburn and eczema.

Cucumber is a very good solution if you have the problem of dark patches below your eyes. Dark patches below your eyes can also be treated with turmeric paste mixed with pineapple juice. In any case of minor skin problems, you should pair the paste with gram flour or whole-wheat flour. Aside helping in fading away dark spots under the eyes cucumber juice, carrot juice, lettuce, or alfalfa can also heal skin inflammations.

How healthy your diet is shows on your skin. As such foods that are rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, antioxidant, zinc, and olive oil are very helpful in improving your skin texture and complexion. Foods like sunflower seeds, which contain Vitamin E help in prevent wrinkles and skin sagging. Vitamin C also helps in maintaining your skin's collagen, and ensures your skin texture improves and becomes more radiant. Kiwi contains a great amount of Vitamin C, even more than oranges. Zinc is also helpful in maintaining you skin's elastin fiber and collagen. Turkey contains zinc in high amounts and you should eat more of turkey containing cuisines.

As you must have heard, drinking an adequate amount of water is good for your skin. It helps keep your skin hydrated. Doctors recommend 10 to 12 glasses of water. This also helps in flushing toxins out of your body and regenerating cells. When you do not take sufficient water, it is easier for impurities to build up and your skin becomes pale. You could also drink green tea in place of water, which is helpful in combating acne pimples as it contains anti-acne antioxidants.

Only a small percentage of the human population is blessed with velvet smooth and acne free skin. It does not matter if you are not among the small few that do not develop skin problems, following a beauty regimen which takes care of your skin from the outside and the inside is sure to include you in the lucky few.

Skin Care - How Vitamins Influence The Skin's Appearance

It is basic knowledge that of all the food and nutrients that we consume that vitamins have by far the greatest impact on the health and appearance of our skins. Generally, good health is reflected in our skin - even conventional Chinese medicines and other more traditional practices judge our health through the appearance of our skin. A healthy skin is therefore reflective of a good diet. This is especially true if you consider that greasy and oily foods tend to aggravate the onset of acne and simple breakouts. The role of vitamins in our diet does not go unnoticed when it relates to our skin's appearance and likewise its health. Basically, without the essential skin vitamins, the skin tends to take on an appearance of dryness and dullness.

Vitamin A is commonly associated with good skin because of its abilities as a good anti-oxidant. However, Vitamin A itself is the general term given to a group of molecules (alcohols and aldehydes) that can exist in either form under given circumstances. Carotenoids and retinol are other popular names for Vitamin A. It is one form of the carotenoid structure in particular (beta-carotene) that gives the group its anti-oxidant properties. An anti-oxidant is simply a molecule that can remove radical scavengers along the skin's surface and thus help in the maintenance of youthful vibrant skin. In general, radicals are naturally produced by the body during is metabolism, but these radicals are highly reactive and have the tendency of attacking the skin's cells - in particular being responsible for early signs of aging and wrinkles. As you could probably guess from the name carotenoid, carrots are among the food types rich in Vitamin A.

Vitamin B (in particular Vitamin B2 or riboflavin) too has the similar function of Vitamin A in terms of healthy skin promotion, only instead of itself being an anti-oxidant it is the catalyst for the reaction which produces anti-oxidants within the body. As a catalyst, its job is the speed up the rate at which the anti-oxidant is produced by creating the ideal conditions for the reaction within the body.

Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is also an anti-oxidant, and is in fact one of the better known and better recognized anti-oxidants around today. But fighting off the harmful free-radicals is not the only function of Vitamin C - it is one of the essential components for the production of collagen tissues. Collagen is in fact the stuff that makes up our skin, so collagen regeneration means younger-looking and healthier skins.

Vitamin D is quite unlike all the other vitamins involved in healthy skin appearance, for it is one that is responsible for the healthy tan of the skin. Vitamin D is produced naturally by the skin when exposed to sunlight, and is the reason for the healthy glow observed in the skin after brief exposures to the sun.

Finally, Vitamin E provides the function of an anti-oxidant. It is however one of the most powerful anti-oxidants used by the body in its constant battle against free-radicals.

Health Benefits of Wheat Grass

Wheatgrass is grown through a process known as sprouting. Sprouts are "complete foods" because they contain all other essential dietary nutrients, along with the enzymes to help assimilate them. They are easily digested and enter the bloodstream quickly. The nutrients in wheatgrass juice are completely assimilated by the human body in 20 minutes. For this reason sprouts are "quick energy" foods. Wheat sprouts contain four times more folic acid, and six times more Vitamin C, than unsprouted wheat or ordinary grass.

Wheat grass is known as a powerful healing agent. Beyond the detoxification and renewal derived from its chlorophyll, carotene and enzymes, the synergy of its array of nutrients restores vitality. For over 25 years, a number of centers of healing have focused on wheat grass as a key aspect of helping many gravely ill people back to health.

Proteins are a very important nutrient needed by the body and are responsible for a huge array of diverse functions throughout the body including cell renewal, creation of hormones to building of muscles, blood and organs. Proteins are made up of amino acids, and they are essential to proper digestion and assimilation of foods, strong immunity against disease, rapid healing of cuts and wounds, proper liver function and regulation of our level of mental awareness.

Wheat grass is believed to have many unexplained natural healing qualities. Many of the phytonutrients (plant nutrients) contained in cereal grasses have yet to be identified and it is not completely known how they provide such great benefits to our health. We do know that cereal grasses contain large amounts of chlorophyll (the “blood” of plants), which is amazingly similar to hemoglobin, the molecule that carries oxygen in the blood.

Wheatgrass Juice is a superior detoxification agent compared to carrot juice and other fruits and vegetables. Dr Earp-Thomas, associate of Ann Wigmore, says that 15 pounds of Wheatgrass is the equivalent of 350 pounds of carrot, lettuce, celery, and so forth.

Wheatgrass juice is an excellent skin cleanser and can be absorbed through the skin for nutrition. Pour green juice over your body in a tub of warm water and soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.

Wheatgrass implants (enemas) are great for healing and detoxifying the colon walls. The implants also heal and cleanse the internal organs. After an enema, wait 20 minutes, then implant 4 ounces of wheatgrass juice. Retain for 20 minutes.

It is also very useful in improving vision of eyes therefore helping in providing proper nourishment to the skin under eyes preventing dark circles and sagging down of skin.

This nutrient-rich grass contains 17 amino acids which are the building blocks of proteins. The body uses these amino adds for, things like building, muscle tissue, repairing cells, and clotting the blood. wheat grass retains 92 of the 102 minerals found in the soil. These minerals include calcium, phosphorus, iron magnesium and potassium. It is a rich natural source of vitamins A and C. wheat grass has more vitamin C than oranges and twice the vitamin A as carrots. It is exceptionally rich in vitamins E, K, and B-complex. It is also a natural source of laetrile.

The starch of the wheat berry is stored energy which when converted to simpler sugars is a quick energy source. It is especially good for athletes because it is a juice and assimilated in 20 minutes. Wheatgrass picks up 92 of the 102 minerals in the soil and contains all vitamins science has isolated.

Beautiful Skin - Healthy Food for Beautiful Skin

These days we seem to be living in the fast-food age and the condition of your skin is often neglected. You still can't beat the old fruit and vegetable diet when it comes to good health and a good complexion.

But Everyone wants to have smooth and beautiful skin. You can achieve this by gathering the following ingredients, and following the simple steps below. It's simple and takes little time.

The secrets to good skin are much more basic; they have to do with a well-balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, the two most important factors that influence the condition of your skin.Healthy, glowing skin can be yours. Here, a simplified skincare regimen for every skin type's most common problems. Eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits, vegetables and leafy green. Good nutrition is the basic building block of healthy skin.

Healthy Food for Beautiful Skin

Eat Fruits for Breakfast did you know that while you sleep your body is detoxifying and cleansing out the waste material from previous day? This is very important for healthy skin as these toxins and waste material can cause acne and other skin problems.

Avoid Problematic Food Combinations Different foods require different digestive juices and enzymes. For example, carbohydrates require alkaline digestive juices, while proteins require highly acidic juices.

When you eat proteins and carbohydrates at the same meal alkaline and acid neutralize each other and neither gets digested properly. Food just sits in the stomach for hours. The ever-present bacteria putrefy it and create more toxins and pollutants.

Eat Yogurt is the only dairy product that is good for your skin. During the fermentation process the probiotic bacteria make it easily digestible. The probiotic bacteria in yogurt are also very important for healthy, radiant skin because they improve the immune system and kill bacteria that cause acne and other skin problems.

Avoid any yogurts sold at supermarkets. In most cases they contain no live bacteria and are practically useless. Make sure that the yogurt you eat is made of organic milk and is pasteurized before the probiotic bacteria is cultivated. Ask your local health store for recommendations.

Green smoothies are amazing skin food. Green smoothies come loaded with antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and other micro-nutrients that your skin requires to be healthy and look young.

Green smoothies are nothing but fruit smoothies with some green, leafy vegetables blended in. I understand that this may not be the most appealing combination, but here’s the trick. Always use at least 60% fruits and green smoothies taste as good as fruit smoothies do. Here’s one combination to try; bananas, frozen blueberries and spinach or kale with little water.

The proteins are needed for repair of body tissues. The skin and hair need enough protein and the deficiency causes dull and dry skin and scalp. Vegetarians specially need to plan their diets carefully to include protein rich foods such as soya beans, sprouts, cheese, milk, grains, peas & beans.

Freshly made cheese from toned milk is an excellent source of protein for the vegetarians. Sprouted beans are enormously rich in nutrition as both the Vitamin B and C content increases as much as 40% during sprouting. If porridge sounds to drab, make it interesting by adding the fruit of your choice to it.

Give Your Natural Skin Care a Boost with Vegetable Juices

Healthy skin, and good health in general, requires a diet high in fresh vegetables, but nutritionists say we would need to consume 15 pounds of raw vegetables and fruits every day to fully nourish our bodies. Many health-conscious people solve this problem by juicing. It’s a convenient way to get the daily nutrients you need, and is a valuable addition to your basic natural skin care routine.

Juices with high silicon content are generally the most beneficial for the skin. These include broccoli, cabbage, kale, spinach, turnip greens – greens of any sort – and watercress, to name a few. While any of these juices are good for you, there are certain combinations that address specific conditions.

Acne sufferers do best with a combination of carrots, green pepper and parsley. Adding a little apple and potato (just a slice or two) is also beneficial. A combination of carrots, spinach, turnip leaves and watercress, which is high in chlorine and sulfur, is good for those with eczema. Again, adding a little potato helps.

Haggard-looking skin is revived with carrots, bell pepper, kale, spinach, and turnip greens, and rough, aging skin responds well to apricot juice. Try combining it with apple and a little gingerroot. Carrots and sweet potato also work well.

If you would like to simply slow down the effects of aging, drink a wide variety of juices every day, and include plenty of celery juice, watermelon juice and carrot juice with parsley.
Some aficionados practically live on juices, but even it (if) you’re not willing to go that far, it’s a good idea to have vegetable juices with your meals to help digestion.

A word of caution about combining vegetables and fruits – vegetables are high in natural oils, and fruits tend to be acidic. As a rule, they don’t mix well and can cause bloating and discomfort. Two exceptions are apples and carrots. Apples can be used to sweeten vegetables juices, and the natural sweetness of carrots goes well with fruit.

If you’re just starting juicing, take it slowly at first. Start with about three glasses a day, two vegetable and one fruit, and work up to six glasses keeping the same vegetable/fruit ratio. The best juicers operate at a low temperature to avoid destroying the nutrients.

If you have severe skin problems, you should consult a dermatologist to determine the best treatment, but, otherwise, adding vegetable juices to your diet could have such dramatic results that within a couple of weeks you’ll look like you spend most of your day at the spa.
