Tips For Getting Rid Of Acne Scars

Although it may seem impossible I would like to talk about tips for getting rid of acne scars. Most people talk on and on about how to handle the zit when it gets there, but what do you do if it's gone and it leaves a scar just as bad as the acne? Well I'm going to answer this for you, since no else has very many tips for getting rid of acne scars. Bare in mind some scarring is worse than others but regardless you will see noticeable changes if you adhere to my tips for getting rid of acne scars.

Tip # 1 - Stop Acne At The Root

The first tip for getting rid of acne scars is stopping acne before it gets out of control. Most people want to stop scarring but then they have lots of acne still. Well before you can really get rid of those scars you must stop pimples before there arrival. This does not mean popping all your pimples. Popping pimples or rubbing your face or touching your acne makes it more severe. Bacteria from your hands feed the acne and popping the pimple is what causes the scar. If your acne is mild or moderate than pursue treatment immediately and aggressively before it gets worse.

Tip # 2 - Try Natural Treatments

Many times people are unaware that chemical acne products help in the short term but are a failure in the long run. These over the counter products have way too much benzoyl peroxide(if you notice the best acne treatments have lower benzoyl peroxide) and they usually leave your skin dry and you'll have to put a facial lotion on that usually blocks pores even further. If your having no success with chemicals try increasing your Vitamin A and E. These vitamins help skin to heal. Honey facials are good and running cold water on your face after you wash will open your pores allowing them to "breathe." Exercise helps blood pump everywhere and promotes healing all over th body. Most people notice a considerable decrease in acne scarring once they start an exercise regime.

Tip # 3 - The Six Treatments

The third tip for getting rid of acne scars is for the small percentages where none of the other tips work. It is only for severe cases and a dermatologist should be consulted first. These are used together more than they are separately and they include:

*Dermabrasion

*Laser Resurfacing

*Chemical Peel

*Punch Technique

*Subcision

*Augmentation

These are much pricier and riskier. I personally recommend natural treatments as these methods can be a waste of time and money. Collagen is injected in your face if you choose augmentation for "crater" like scarring. It raises the impact from the scar and requires repeated treatments because it is only temporary. Dermabrasion and Laser Surfacing are as dangerous as they sound because they don't always work and will leave you homeless with the price it cost. Chemical peels seem to work in the short run but constantly putting chemicals on your face will make the treatment less effective over time. Which means you will need chemical peels all the time.

Asking your Dermatologist whether one of those treatments is necessary is very important. This is a good tip for getting rid of acne scars because a dermatologist will tell you specifically what type of scarring you have. Most doctors recommend natural treatment however, because many natural products contain plant extracts that are designed to heal scarring and repair facial skin. There are also no side effects. Proactiv, Acnezine, and Revitol are the best natural products but they should be combined with healthy skin care. The Overnight Acne Cure GUARANTEES that your acne will be gone in 1 night and scarring reduced. This guide teaches you all the "forgotten" secrets that the Japanese Geisha girls used to use. You may never have to buy an acne product again with this guide because they use ingredients found in your kitchen. So remember avoid the chemicals, your acne is a natural part of your body so use a natural substance to have it removed. It only makes sense.

Oily Skin Acne Care

Oily skin is usually vulnerable to acne problems. The excessive oil secretion mixes up with dead cells and blocks the skin pores, resulting in bacterial activation. This causes swelling and inflammation of the skin.

Acne appears in locations where there are excessive oil secretions. Some of the most commonly affected areas are the face, chest, back, and shoulders. Acne problems can be easily treated at home. Acne is caused by the oily condition of the skin. It is important to wash the face and other affected areas with a cleanser specifically for oily skin. Excessive scrubbing should be avoided, because it could cause damage to the skin. It is advisable to only use mild soaps, as hard alkaline soaps tend to be too harsh, and wash away the skin's necessary moisture as well as the oil. After washing, it is a good idea to dry the skin gently with a clean towel, and then apply a topical acne medication.

Antibacterial skin lotions reduce the amount of bacteria on your skin. These skin lotions mostly comprise of Benzoyl Peroxide, which is a major antibacterial agent. Home remedies are usually slow, and are meant only for smaller problems like blackheads, whiteheads, or common pimples. If the acne appears to be slightly worse with inflammation, swelling, and reddening of skin, it would be better to visit a doctor. There are several other topical treatments available. The type of treatment to be given is decided by the doctor. It depends on certain factors including the patients' acne condition, skin type, and sex. Usually, the patients would be enquired about previous allergy symptoms and checked out for allergic reactions to medications.

Azelaic acid may be used as a substitute for benzoyl acid. Topical retinoids are medicines containing vitamin A, which have to be applied to the skin. One of the major drawbacks of retinoids, however, is they can cause skin irritation and make the person hypersensitive to sunlight. Oral medications are sometimes prescribed to kill bacteria which affect the skin. Using these pills is requires dedication, as the results are not immediate. Oral medications are available to reduce excessive hormone secretion in the patients. But there are potential side affects with this method, including excessive dryness of the skin and headaches, so it is used only in extreme cases. Therefore, it is always better to go for medical advice in such cases.

Acne Skin Care Tips

Most aghast teenagers address acne eruptions by manically scrubbing and dieting under the mistaken assumption that the problem is somehow related to poor hygiene or improper nutrition. While avoiding those cheeseburgers is definitely commendable for other health-related reasons, it is going to have no effect on the acne. As for skin hygiene – while increased cleansing is definitely called for, laying on a face wash of harsh toothpaste with a pumice stone is hardly constructive.

Another mistaken assumption is that astringents will discourage excess oil secretion. Astringents clean off superficial oils while causing the skin to contract, thereby clogging pores and causing long-term aggravation for short-term cosmetic benefits. The best course of action is using a mild cleansing agent to wash down the entire face, not just the fabled T zone or only acne-affected areas and regular shampooing of the hair. Oily hair will directly translate into facial oiliness, especially in people with chin or shoulder-length hair.

Most importantly, picking at or rubbing acne blemishes must be strictly avoided, since this can lead to permanent scarring and skin discoloration that will require measures like laser treatment to correct later on. Excessive exposure to sunlight is also a definite no-no, especially if one is using a compound like trenitoin that increases the skin’s photosensitivity. For that reason, tanning lamps must also be given a wide berth.

Females affected with acne must rigorously scan the contents of their cosmetics before using them – only those without an oily base and with the tag ‘noncomedogenic’ (non-obstructing to skin pores) on the label should be used. Finally, sports headgear such as headbands and cycling helmets as well as fashion accessories that result in constriction or irritation of facial skin must be avoided.

Best Sunscreen For Acne

If you are treating your acne condition with most conventional medication, you are required to apply sunscreen before going out and expose yourself to sunlight. Without a proper sunscreen you risk getting sunburns and worsened acne condition. Protect yourself with any good sunblock that has a decent SPF strength is essential for this reason.

There are some important facts that you need to know if you are using topical treatments that claim to have some effects on your skin while you are under the sun:
1. By using these products, you must use sunscreen outdoors.

2. These products most of the time, can cause your skin to become sensitive to the sun after a period of application. This means that if you expose yourself to sunlight, it is likely that you will get sunburns, rashes, itchiness, or any sort of irritations.

3. This sensitivity might take several months up until years to go away, so you should know by know that you should use a sunscreen.

Another reason to use sunblock is because some research has shown that the sun and its rays have some worsening effect on acne.

Choosing a good sunscreen is easy. You just need to look for a sunscreen that:

1. Has a high SPF rating. Make sure you get SPF20 or higher for better protection against the sun.

2. Is not oil-based.

3. Does not clog pores. Clogged pores means that there is a chance your acne will get worse.

4. Is light and comfortable when applied on face so that your face does not feel oily and smelly after using the sunblock.

5. Has moisturizing effect. Better if it contains vitamins and minerals.

6. Not too expensive because expensive does not align with quality most of the time.

Having a at least a decent sunscreen is a must to shield yourself from the harmful rays of the sun. Even if you are not required to use sunscreen, it is good to have protection against the sun since the harmful rays the sun emits can destroy the texture of the skin.

Clear Acne Free Skin For Life

Acne is a common condition that nearly everyone experiences at some point in their life, from teenagers to adults. It affects people from all ages and backgrounds all over the world. The most unpleasant thing about Acne is the scars it leaves behind.

There are factors which cause acne; firstly, hormonal imbalance that normally starts at puberty round about the ages of 12 or 13. Stress is another major factor which again changes the levels of hormones, this causes the oil glands to enlarge, more oil is let out which causes Spots. Oily or heavy make-up also clogs up the pores, so do certain medications and for some people certain foods with sugar also trigger the problem. Picking or squeezing the spots spreads more infection and will make the problem worse and could even cause scarring. Pollution is another big factor which causes the pores to get blocked and finally family genes; acne is inherited to some people from family members.

Taking care of your skin is very important, not only for your personal sense of beauty but also for your overall health.

There are five major types of skin and it is important to understand which type of skin you have because this is a good approach to skin care.

Normal, healthy skin is the type we all dream about and we'd all love to have. This is the type that isn't too dry or isn't too oily and has small pores and is clear and smooth.

Dry skin is mainly caused by the environment, weather, pollution, etc. and also because of lack of water; this causes the skin to dry up and it begins to flake. This type of skin as it ages, tends to get more wrinkly than the other types of skins.

Oily skin tends to look very sticky and causes large pores and acne. People with oily skin tend to get more spots in their teenage years.

Combination skin is the type which varies from person to person, but mainly the problem with combination skin is that the 'T Zone' (that's the areas covering the forehead, down the nose and up to the chin) stay oily and the cheeks and the skin under the eyes tend to stay dry.

People with sensitive skin are the ones that are most likely to be prone to allergies because this type of skin gets irritated very easily and becomes red and patchy.

So, by now you should know which type of skin you have, so take care of it!

The tips given below will show you how to achieve that beautiful skin, firstly you shouldn't wash your face with very hot or very cold water, it should be lukewarm; this is because facial skin is very sensitive. If you wash with very hot water, this causes the pores to open up too much and if you wash with cold water this causes the pores to contract so you wont be able to clean the skin properly. Avoid using regular soaps on your face because they tend to have chemicals, which aren't good for your face, instead, use a cleanser that is suitable for your skin type and use regularly. Or just use plain water, this would be enough to keep your skin clean.

After washing your face gently with cleanser, pat your face dry with a soft clean towel instead of scrubbing, because this causes more problems for the skin. It will attract more germs and bacteria, now we don't want that happening do we?

You should avoid touching the spots or attempting to pop them because this spreads more germs and infections deeper into your skin which means even more spots.

And finally, your diet should be healthy with plenty of fruit and green vegetables and water. Your diet should contain foods with plenty of vitamin and minerals which keep your skin beautiful and smooth.

Acne is a menace to people who suffer from this condition; but there are now many treatments available which can help the condition so it is more bearable. Many people from around the world are affecting by this skin complaint so scientific research to find a cure is fierce; consequently many of the new treatments are vastly effective. The acne skin care products available fall into these:

Drugstore: Preventative treatment

Those available at a drugstore or over-the-counter

Prescription only: Requires visit to doctor

Those that fall into the preventative category are based around general skin conditioning to help stop acne from forming; products like skin cleansers and toners fall into this category. This is a market where many people use this type of product every day to condition their skin; often this is irrespective of whether or not there is a problem condition. There are acne skin care products that are more specialized in there approach; devised primarily to limit the amount of oil or sebum forming in the pores. This product category works by minimizing or eliminating the condition of oil appearing in the skin's pores and aiding harmful bacteria growth which can lead to acne skin conditions.

General skin care treatments also include special exfoliation products like skin peels; most can even be purchased over the Internet in addition to normal outlets. Dead skin cell removal is how these work, effectively minimizing bacteria growth that comes from pore-clogging. There is a huge market for these types of acne skin care products as they don't require a consultation with a dermatologist. Treatments that are effective contain the ingredients salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide; these substances effectively remove or minimize oil contained in the skin's pores.

It is often a good idea to start with a product that has benzoyl peroxide at about a 5 percent or less concentration to see how the skin responds; moisturizers based on alpha-hydroxy acid are a safer skin care regime alternative if there is a problem. As with any type of zit cream, you may need to try a few acne skin care products until you find one that will suit your skin; however, if finding an effective remedy it is proving to be a problem then consult with your doctor, or skin care specialist. There are benefits of seeing your doctor or dermatologist, they can prescribe you with a prescription for treatments not available over the counter, for example a course of antibiotics.

In Summary

Your doctor can recommend that in order to extract the contents of the pustules that a small surgical procedure could be carried out; this is not something you should ever attempt yourself. Another effective course of skin care treatment is hormone therapy; hormonal changes are known to cause acne and such skin care treatments often effective. Treating acne is not the issue it once was and if treated quickly and early enough can prevent permanently marked skin.

Water and Sunlight Helps to Clear Acne

Drink More Water

The skin stores around 12% water. It is important to maintain this amount with the correct amount of good fat to keep your skin from getting acne. You need to drink around 2 quarts of distilled water every day. If you are not drinking this amount, just start increasing the amount that you do drink.

Drinking water helps you get rid of toxins in the blood and around your cells. By drinking water, you will urinate more and more toxins will be eliminated. You will sweat more and toxins will be eliminated.

The cleaner your blood the healthier your skin will be and your will not have a problem with acne.

Use glass containers when buying distilled or reverse osmosis water. Try to avoid using plastic containers for water since plastic containers contain chemicals, left in the container walls during manufacturing, which leaches out into the water.

If you are drinking fresh juices, you will also be getting water from these juices. Drinking sodas is not drinking water. If you are eating fresh vegetables you are getting distilled water. So the more fruits and vegetables you eat the less water you need to drink.

Here’s a few things you do to help you drink more water or to make the water healthier. Find a 16 or 32 oz glass container and add distilled water. Then add one of the following nutrients:

* A few drops of Alkalife. This solution changes the pH of the water from 7 to 8 and also activates the water with its electrolytes – sodium and potassium.

* Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the water. Do not add sugar. A few drops of honey may be ok.

* Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the water and add up to one teaspoon of powdered MSM. MSM is excellent for the skin disorders such as acne. It makes the skin cells more flexible, allowing more nutrients to go into and out of the cells, and its anti-inflammatory. MSM is also excellent in activating peristaltic action and will prevent constipation.

* Put 2 oz of mangosteen into the water. Mangosteen is an over all body tonic. It works on all parts of the body and will help keep you regular.

You can also choose to add your favorite nutritional flavor to give water an additional value.

Chose one of these natural additives for your water and drink this water little by little all day long. This is one more thing you can do to get rid of acne, improve your skin texture or to keep the nice skin you already have.

Get Some Sunshine

One more thing you can do for your skin is to get more natural light.

Expose your face to plenty of sun and air. This helps your skin to heal faster. But don’t purposely place your face in the sun, but remaining in the shade and open outdoors gives you plenty of sun and air.

At least 20 – 40 minutes a day in the outdoors is necessary for you to get sufficient vitamin D for you daily needs.

Acne Tips

A person with acne can use all manner of advice. He or she might want to know how to treat acne. He or she might want to discover a way to prevent the recurrence of an acne flare-up. He or she might have special problems, problems that developed during or following a former experience with acne.

Tips that can aid with each of those concerns can be found in this section. Much additional material on prevention has been covered in an earlier section. More extensive coverage of acne treatment can be found in a number of the coming sections. Here the reader will find a potpourri of yet unmentioned, acne tips.

Hairs can easily take-up dirt from the air. Someone with acne should keep his or her hair away from the face. Since hair does often fly into the face, it is best to keep one's hair as clean as possible.

Skin benefits greatly from a healthy flow of blood to and in the skin. Exercise serves to promote improved blood flow. If you have acne, try to find a form of exercise that you really enjoy. Once you have found it, make it an important part of your life.

The above tips focused on acne prevention. This paragraph has some tips that relate to acne treatment. Any treatment has a greater chance of success if the person using that treatment keeps his or her skin very clean. Any treatment adds chemicals into or onto the skin. Those chemicals can make the skin extra sensitive to sunlight.

Acne can scar the skin. The last paragraphs in this section offer some tips about how to remove unsightly scars. Of course, do not forget that chances for scar formation increase, if one constantly touches an acne pimple.

Dermabrasion can remove scar tissue. A health professional applies dermabrasion by using an electrical machine. The dermabrasion process removes the top layer of skin. Following use of dermabrasion, the skin becomes very smooth.

Collagen injections serve to supplement the natural collagen in the skin. That collagen manages to stretch the skin. Collagen treatments can guarantee enjoyment of a 3 month scar-fee period.

Autologous fat transfers can help to remove scar tissue. Fat from one section of the body is first prepared for injection into another section of the body. The injected fat is then absorbed by the skin during a 6 to 18 month period. At the end of that time, the scar tissue will reappear, unless the patient receives another fat injection.

The laser offers yet another tool for health professionals who hope to offer a form of scar removal. Microdermabrasion, which relies on special abrasive minerals, can also be used to rid the skin of unsightly scars.

Acne Vitamins

In the section on "Skin Diet," vitamins received needed mention. Still, the importance of vitamins can not be overstated. Vitamins contribute greatly to the maintenance of a healthy, acne-free skin. For that reason, this section offers even more details about the vitamins that help to prevent acne.

Starting with the vitamin of greatest importance for those concerned about acne (and also starting at the beginning of the alphabet), this article will first examine the benefits of Vitamin A. Vitamin A helps the skin cells to produce vital proteins, thus strengthening the protective tissue of the skin. At the same time, Vitamin A lowers the level of oil production in the sebaceous glands.

Toxins can form within the skin, If not eliminated from the skin; then those toxins can irritate the skin, adding to chances for the development of acne. Consumption of foods with Vitamin A helps to move toxins out of the body. Please note that this section has advised looking to foods (fruits and vegetables) as a source of Vitamin A. Do not look to supplements for Vitamin A that can work to prevent acne.

Each of the various B Vitamins plays a part in the effort to keep skin free of acne. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) provides cells with the tools for metabolism. Metabolism creates energy. A diet of only carbohydrates does not give the body its needed Vitamin B1. A body in need of thiamine can obtain that chemical from digested garlic, parsley, leek, oranges, kale, pineapple, plum, cauliflower and tangerine.

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) lends assistance to Vitamin A. Those two vitamins work together to maintain the mucous membrane of the gastro-intestinal tract. Unlike Vitamin A, Vitamin B1 sources in food can be effectively supplemented by using the proper vitamin tablets. If you want to rely on such supplements, take 100 mg three times a day.

Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) also contributes to the functioning of the cells' metabolic pathways. In addition, Vitamin B3 insures the smooth flow of blood through the circulatory system. For supplementation of B3 in the diet, take 200 mg three times a day.

Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) reduces stress, a condition that can cause acne. Vitamin B6 (pyroxidine) enhances the functioning of the immune system (the elements that fight the bacteria in the skin).

In addition to vitamins, skin cells need minerals. Chromium helps to speed the disappearance of infections. Most of today's processed foods lack chromium. To get enough, use tablets that provide your body with 150 micrograms per day.

How To Prevent Acne

The best thing you are able to do in the battle versus acne is to try everything you can to prevent it and to stop it from spreading. A lot of the things you should do are common sense routines of hygiene and face care. But there are a few things that can be executed that you might not think of. Because acne is induced when your face has too much oil and dead skin, which then clogs up the pores, you ought to cleanse your face twice each day with a good soap. Many folks advise employing a sulfur-based soap. Don't scour your face that will merely irritate your skin. Always cleanse softly and don't wash your face too frequently.

If you're going to employ a moisturizer on your face, ensure it doesn't contain an oil base. This is also something that ought to be looked at by women who are going to put on war paint. Whatever is going on a woman's face shouldn't contain an oil base. A make-up with a H2O base is a good deal better. Also, keep off putting on war paint as much as you are able to. But if you must wear it, ensure that you get rid of it prior to hitting the sack every night-time. Never slumber in your war paint.

Long hair may constitute trouble during an acne eruption. An individual's hair holds a lot of oils. It also picks up a lot of debris and filth. Then the hair chafes against the face depositing this grime and oil on the skin. Many medicos will advise keeping your hair short to prevent this ongoing trouble. Others will say that if you opt to keep your hair long tie it back as frequently as you are able to. Thus preventing this ongoing transference of oils from occurring.

Whenever an acne eruption is starting avoid the sun's beams. They can be extremely tough on the skin and even make the acne worse. Also, don't apply sunscreens
that contain an oil base.

Some caregivers, and some acquaintances, will advise you that certain supplements will assist in helping to prevent acne. One that's often recommended is taking Vitamin A. It's reputed to prevent acne and improve an individual's skin. It also goes a long way to decrease the output of sebum. Sebum is another name for the oils that are the chief culprit in inducing acne. Other people will suggest the employment of a chromium supplement, or taking a daily complement of zinc.

Do not wear tight apparel. This makes you perspire and if you're a person who gets acne on your back the perspiring will step-up the probabilities of an eruption. Switch your bed sheets, and particularly your pillow slip, on a regular basis. If you're in the midst of an outbreak change your pillow slip every few days so you're not lying down in the oils that are rubbing off of your face.

You might not be able to entirely prevent it but if you abide by a few of these tips you will have a great chance of suppressing your acne and keeping it under control.
