Top Winter Skin Care Tips

Think about the long winter, you think about your chapped and dehydrated skin and cracked lips. Winter gives your skin a dull miserable look that you can do without! Do not curse yourself for those outdoor activities that keep you busy during winter months. You cannot be indoors all the time with your room heater on! With proper skin care and a little bit of precaution, you can keep your skin healthy and make it glow even in those freezing temperature? Let's do.

Winter Care Tips for Skin:

Keep Your Skin Hydrated: Always drink plenty of water so as to keep your skin moist and supple. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables so as to retain water in your body. Also apply coconut oil to your skin before taking bath to treat your dull skin.

Drink Less Coffee, colas, tea and alcohol: In winter, drinking coffee and alcohol make your body loose water more easily and your skin to become dry and chapped. Avoid it, if possible.
Indoor Humidifiers to Raise Moisture: Placing several humidifiers or bowls of water in your home or in your office may prevent dryness in the air and keep it humid. This can also prevent your skin from getting dried and itchy.

Avoid Using Soap: Do not use soap; it makes your skin dry. Instead, apply a paste of green gram powder or moisturizing cleanser regularly for that soft and supple skin.

Use Oil-Based Moisturizer Regularly: Use an oil-based moisturizer, particularly that comes in ointment form, to protect yourself from moisture loss. In humid condition, this ointment containing 80% oil and 20% water and forms a protective covering on your skin.

Take Precaution While Going Out: While going out for a long time, cover any visible part of your skin like face, arms, legs, neck with a thick coating of moisturizing broad-spectrum sunscreen with 15 SPF. You should consider taking your dermatologist advice while choosing the right sunscreen for your particular skin type. It does not mean that you have to buy a costly product. David Boron, MD, a dermatologist in Arcadia, feels that inexpensive products work just well as expensive products. What should be of importance to you is how your skin reacts to that product.

Wear Gloves: When going outside, wear gloves. When wearing woolen clothes, as a precaution, wear loose-fitting cotton gloves next to your skin.

Wear Loose-Fitting Cotton Clothes Next to Your Skin: While dressing for winter, the most important point to remember is that when you dress in layers you sweat. In addition, your body also produces heat. Over heating of your body makes your skin sensitive to become itchy and dry. To prevent this, wear loose-fitting cotton clothes next to your skin. You can wear layers of woolen or winter clothes on top of it to fight cold.

Regularly Exfoliate Your Dry Skin : In winter, regularly exfoliate twice a week so as to remove the dead cells and to open the skin pores to absorb more moisture.

Do not fight winter. Take proper skin care and enjoy the winter in all its glory with glowing and soft skin!

Check Out Serious Skin Care Products For Wonders

For a long time now, people have been using skin care products that have somehow ended up causing them more harm than good. Many have complained to no avail. It is for this reason that serious skin care products had to be developed and made available to the world. These latest products mainly come from natural substances such as herbs or industrial products that contain minimal or no chemical content at all.

However, just like when using the other skin care products, one needs to know his or her skin type before using these serious skin care products.

Beauty masks are some of the serious skin care products currently in use in the society. These masks are usually mixtures of specified ingredients that when properly mixed, can be applied on the skin especially on the face whereby they will help in taking care of the skin. Beauty masks are often applied on the face during night time when one is about to sleep and get to be removed in the morning.

However, this period is usually not the only time that they can be worn. Due to the different skin types that exist, beauty masks are usually prepared differently so as to suite one's skin type.

For example, a beauty mask meant for dry skin may be prepared by thoroughly mixing 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of honey, a few drops of rose water and a 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil.

For people with normal skin, they can make a beauty mask by thoroughly mixing 1 apple, cored and quartered and 2 tablespoons of honey. This mixture should then be refrigerated for about 10 minutes and then applied on.

On the other hand, for those of us who have oily skins, a mixture comprising of a 1/2 Cucumber, 1 tablespoon of Lemon juice, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of mint can be used to make our beauty masks and can be applied on after 10 minutes of refrigeration.Herbal creams and oils are other serious skin care products which do not come with side effects.

Examples of these creams and oils include, Aloe Vera cream or gel, Calendula cream or oil and Comfrey oil. Aloe Vera cream is known for its healing, soothing and moisturizing effects which are all good for the skin. Apart from these properties, the cream is able to help with exfoliation which is the process of removing the skin's top layer that comprises of dead cells.

Both Calendula and Comfrey oils on the other hand, have softening properties and it is for this reason that they are usually applied on cracked dry skin so as to assist in softening it. In addition to this, these oils are most of the time used in facial saunas or in making herbal water. However, comfrey has additional abilities such as reducing the redness that may be found on skin as well as being able to sooth the skin. To get satisfying results from Calendula and Comfrey oils, you have to cover the skin once you have applied them on. A common covering method that people prefer using is wearing of plastic gloves.

Milk bath skin lotions are also serious skin care products commonly used by ladies. These lotions are a mixture of powdered milk and natural oils such as almond oil. The milk bath skin lotions are usually mixed with bath water in the tub and then one is supposed to enter the tub and just lie in the mixture for a while so as to allow the skin absorb and soak all the nourishment that the lotion has to offer. By undergoing this process, the skin eventually become moisturized and beautiful to look at.

Natural Skin Care - Health In Your Hands

Many of us become so busy in our daily schedules; good skin care just is not something always at the top of the list. But there are many ways to care for your skin with out too much time and effort or even money needed. Natural skin care can come from several different sources throughout your day with just a little effort by making sure to take good overall health care measures.

Two things that are important are to eat a well balanced healthy diet and proper nightly rest. Just by eliminating greasy fast foods and processed sugars, there will be a difference in the health of your skin. By substituting a good healthy balanced diet of fruits and vegetables, your body will fill better and give your skin a new glow. By eliminating stress through relaxation techniques, normal exercise and the proper amount of rest on a regular basis, your skin will show more elasticity and natural moisture. By doing these very important, but simple things our skin will look younger and fresher.

Even for those of us that do eat quite well with a good balanced diet, many of us still could use a little more help by taking vitamins. Since there are several reasons for not always being able to tell exactly what may be still missing in our normal food intake, the extra vitamin supplements are very important. It is vital for our skin to get enough of the trace minerals, antioxidants and essential fatty acids for our inner and outer health for us to get the best skin benefits possible. Regular exercise too, will improve and maintain the body's circulation that will contribute to better well-nourished skin and your overall well-being.

Wash your skin in warm water instead of hot showers or baths to keep your skin from dehydration. Also make sure to only wash with purely natural soaps or body cleansers. Wear only chemical free sun screens and use all natural moisturizers. It is not as hard as you may think to find all natural products at a reasonable price for your skin. If you wear cosmetics, take a few extra moments to read the ingredients of the cosmetics you choose to use, and wearing slightly less of any cosmetics always help by keeping your pores more open for healthier facial skin. Good clean facial skin can be maintained by washing twice a day with warm water and naturally gentle facial cleanser.

Treatments For Deep Eye Wrinkles

The skin around your eyes is some of the most delicate and sensitive skin. There is very little fat in this area so it will show the signs of aging much more quickly than the other areas on your face. It is very important that you keep this skin protected so that you can avoid the deep eye wrinkles that many people face as their skin ages. What can you do to make sure that the wrinkles around your eyes are minimized?

There are many treatments available that can help your skin stay younger looking for a longer period of time if you use them in the proper way.

The first thing that you will need for deep eye wrinkles is a good moisturizer. Look for a product that uses the ingredients that are known to moisturize the skin and keep it looking young and soft. There are many products on the market, but not all are the same. You should read some reviews to be sure that you are using the product that has the best effect for anti aging treatments. Many products use natural ingredients to help the skin stay younger and less prone to wrinkles. These are the least harmful to your skin if you have a sensitivity to chemical laden products.

An eye cream is necessary as your skin ages to keep the delicate skin around your eyes well moisturized. These are generally applied at night along with your nightcream. Using these products in combination will combat the deep eye wrinkles that you may be experiencing as well as deep forehead wrinkles and those around the mouth area. Your nightcream product is a heavier moisturizer that will need the full night to absorb into your skin. You will feel a difference in the quality of your skin when you begin using these products right away. Make sure that you are using a product that is designed to be a nightcream on your skin every night before you go to bed.

Keep your eyes protected from the sun with sunscreen as well as sunglasses. The sun can have a very devastating effect on the skin and your eyes if they are not protected during the day. Make sure that you are protecting your skin every single time you go out. Many people forget this part of their skin care routine and suffer from the wrinkles that are caused from the sun. You will also find that the sun can cause sunspots and pigment changes in your skin if you are not wearing a sunscreen regularly.

To help your skin remain healthy and avoid the deep eye wrinkles that come with aging, you should make sure that your diet is healthy. Your skin will break down and lose its elasticity as it ages. A diet that is healthy and contains antioxidant rich foods will help to combat this natural aging process. Your deep eye wrinkles are the result of your skin not being as elastic as it once was. Minimize these effects with a good diet and plenty of water.

Make sure that you get plenty of rest as well. Your body needs time to repair itself every day. You should be sure that you are giving yourself plenty of time to repair the damage that is caused during the day. Your skin will appear pale when you do not get enough rest at night and this can cause the skin around your eyes to appear darker. While this is not the cause of deep eye wrinkles, it can enhance the appearance of the wrinkles.

These substances even if present in trace amounts could be very harsh on your skin, eventually leading to adverse side-effects. Hence, before buying a skin care product, read the product composition and make sure that it does not contain harsh organic ingredients.

The Best Wrinkle Reduction Advice

The best wrinkle reduction advice sounds like something your mother would say: eat right, get enough rest and drink plenty of water. Of course, a good skin care regimen will also smooth skin anti wrinkles.

In addition to stress and worry and not getting enough rest, our environment wrecks havoc with our skin by bombarding it with pollutants in the form of free radicals.

Plus, as you age, your skin naturally becomes drier and your body stops producing as much collagen. It also starts producing a nasty enzyme that actually breaks down certain amino acids that help keep your skin looking young. Not fair!

To combat all these stresses and effects on aging, you can help by drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated and using a quality moisturizer.

You can find wrinkle reduction advice everywhere but using skin care products filled with antioxidants and age reversing ingredients like phytessence wakame will make a huge difference in the smoothing of your skin.

Phytessence wakame is a secret ingredient of Japanese skin care. It's a sea kelp that actually slows down that nasty enzyme that breaks down the proteins in your skin causing sagging and wrinkles. By inhibiting this break down, an amino acid called hyaluronic acid actually reverses itself and begins to hold steady at the rate of a much younger person. It's this amino acid that is responsible for the smooth skin anti wrinkles of your youth.

The Japanese are one of the most long lived people in the world and they regularly eat this sea kelp in their diet and include it in their skin care products to help prevent wrinkles.

Imagine your friends asking what you're using to keep your skin looking so smooth and firm. It'd be up to you if you'd share your secret!

My wrinkle reduction advice would include using products that are filled with antioxidants like Coenzyme Q10. Coenzyme Q10, especially in its "nano-emulsion" formula can penetrate deep into your skin to eat up free radicals. Natural Vitamin E will plump up fine lines and help prevent more lines from forming. Shea butter is a rich, buttery cream from the African shea tree. It soaks deep into your skin to moisturize at a deep level.

Where you can find these kinds of ingredients?

If you're looking at many of the big name cosmetic companies and not finding them, you're not alone. A lot of the big companies aren't using these yet. But a little known company in New Zealand is.

This company puts lots of money into its products and not much into its advertising. Instead, they rely on people like you and me to spread the word. They're sold on the internet which keeps their overhead low. They also offer a full money back guarantee.

They have a quality product that offers good for you skin care at a fair price.

So there you have it, the best wrinkle reduction advice I know. Find a reputable company with top quality ingredients to help you have smooth skin and prevent wrinkles. Your friends will be wondering how you stay so young!

Younger Looking Skin - Simple tips To Hold Back The Years

If you want to keep your skin in great condition and get younger looking skin, it’s a lot easier and less expensive than you may think.

You don’t need expensive beauty creams, you can simply follow the tips below and you will have great looking younger skin, thats radiant and glowing.

1. Protect

It doesn’t what day cream you use, for younger looking skin you need to have one that has an SPF 15 level of protection.

This goes for days when the sun is not high in the sky.

Sun damage is the major cause of premature skin aging.

You don’t need expensive creams.

One that has SPF 15 for the day and for the night, simply one that you feel comfortable with and is absorbed easily into your skin type, is all you need.

You can spend a few dollars, to several hundred dollars on skin creams, however there will be little difference between them in terms of protecting your skin.

One of the biggest myths of all is nourishing the skin from the outside.

The stories are great and sound convincing, but it’s a shame they don’t work!

If you want to nourish your skin you do it from the inside.

The foods you eat are important. Don’t fall for the hype of the multi billion pound advertising of eternal youth from a pot of cream.

2. Foods to keep your skin young

Multigrain bread

To get plenty of selenium to zap free radicals, which when they get into the body can break down collagen.

Other good foods are shrimps, brazil nuts and sunflower seeds.

Oats

Oats contain silicic acid that is responsible for making the spongy like cells that lie between collagen and the elastin fibres of the skin.

This plumps up the skin making it look more youthful and are great for holding back fine lines.

Alternatives are whole grain wheat, Alfalfa the latter which is a popular supplement.

Goji berries & Muesli

The former contains lots of vitamin C (as do other berries) but these contain 500 times more vitamin C gram for gram than oranges, so you get a potent dose and finally, Muesli for Vitamin E.

These vitamins are great for zapping free radicals and protecting the skin naturally from sun damage.

Other good foods for vitamin C are (other berries as stated above) oranges and grapefruit.

For Vitamin E look for sweet potatoes, Sunflower seeds spinach and avocado or you can take evening primrose oil.

As a general rule you should get at least 3 – 5 servings of fruit and vegetables per day.

Great meats

Get plenty of oily fish and aim for 5 servings per week.

Great sources include: Mackerel, salmon, sardines, herrings and salmon.

These fish contain omega 3. This essential fat helps form prostaglandins which are responsible for keeping the skin subtle and hydrated.

Steak

Lean steak is great for supplying iron an essential nutrient. If you don’t like steak, then you can have mackerel, sardines or dark turkey meat, as an alternative.

Crab

A great source of copper which is an essential mineral for the formation melatin which helps reduce the formation of age spots one of the tell tale signs of skin aging.

Beef, sardines, mussels, lobster and sunflower seeds are also good sources.

Last but not least

3. Drink water and lots of it

We can’t live without it and it’s essential to get plenty to hydrate your skin and flush out impurities. So get 2 – 3 litres a day.

Do the above and

Your skin will look younger and more radiant and you will delay the signs of aging.

One final note, the bulk of the work to keep your skin young comes from the inside, Not the outside.

So forget the miracle creams, nourish from the inside and protect with SPF from the outside and you will have beautiful, radiant, younger looking skin.

The Best Skin Care Products That Help Prevent Wrinkles

What kind of treatment will help prevent wrinkles? This is a question that almost every other person asks me these days. Apart from the fact that I read a lot about skin care, there is another reason for these people to ask me this question. I don't have wrinkles, dark spots, pimples, saggy skin, or any other signs of premature aging that could make me look like a man with midlife crisis. So, naturally, people wonder and ask me 'how do you look so young and have flawless skin despite slogging in the office for more than 10 hours a day?' Well; there is a way. A rather easy way if I can say so.

The best idea that can help prevent wrinkles is to use a good skin care cream. I use one. A really good one, I must add. But before I tell you anything more about using a skin care cream and all that stuff, let me first tell you something about premature aging in general.

So, what is the big deal about wrinkles? Why do you want to prevent face wrinkles? The answer is - they make you look like an old man. Can you imagine looking like a 40 year old man when you are actually 20 something? But with wrinkles, dark spots, saggy skin, and bags under the eyes, one can look a lot older than his actual age. This is the reason why you should take good care of your skin. After all, you don't want 12 year olds to start greeting you uncle when you are just 20, do you?

So, I said the secret to prevent face wrinkles is to use a good skin cream and I also said that I use one. But what I am about to tell you is the most important part. It is about choosing the right skin care cream. Surprisingly, a lot of people have no idea about skin care and they just go and pick skin care products randomly. This is wrong. You should choose your skincare products as carefully as you would choose a medication that you take internally. In a sense, what you apply on your skin actually goes into your body, as your skin simply absorbs it. So, you need to be careful about what you apply on your skin.

The best way and the most trusted way to find a good skin care product is to go organic. While there are a lot of artificial cosmetic items that promise to help prevent wrinkles, they are not as effective as they claim to be and most importantly not safe. A lot of skin care companies, including some big, popular brands, use a lot of chemicals that are absolutely unsafe for your skin. As a result, a lot of people who use these products experience severe side effects and they end up looking worse than what they used to before using those products.

The best way to avoid all these problems and still take good care of your skin is to go for organic skin care products which are perfectly safe for your skin. There are a lot of good organic skin care products that can prevent face wrinkles. When it comes to such organic products, the kind of ingredients used in a product determines how effective a product is. So, you should look out for organic skin care products with the best natural ingredients that deliver great results. Some of these ingredients include functional keratin, wakame (a special kind of Japanese kelp extract), manuka honey (a very rare type of honey found in New Zealand), natural oils like olive oil, grape seed oil, avocado oil, and macadamia oil, and other herbal and fruit extracts. If you can find a good organic cream with these ingredients, go for it.

So, there you have it - the perfect recipe to help prevent wrinkles. Get started today, buy a good organic skin cream, use it regularly, and you can find the difference for yourself. Getting rid of wrinkles and getting younger looking skin has never been easier.

The Truth About Natural Skin Care Treatments That Work

Natural skin care treatment options range from a vinegar and distilled water splash to finely manufactured products that contain nothing artificial. So people (and manufacturers) seem to forget that the skin is an organ and should be cared for in the same manner that we care for the rest of our bodies.

Everyone should be interested in natural skin care treatment. Many people neglect their skin's health, while working hard to maintain muscles strength or agility and those are important, but the skin's layers are our first protection against illness and injury.

Natural skin care treatment is about how you look, but it's also about how you live. Your first argument may be that people have gotten along just fine without all these treatments. But, the truth is that they existed and they were 100% organic. Synthetic chemicals are a relatively new addition.

Also, I would remind you that we live in a different day and time. Today, it is more important then ever to consider organic and natural skin care treatment. While it might seem that historical folks got along just fine, they also had a decent ozone layer and lived carbon monoxide free.

In modern times many synthetic and scientific approaches have developed and some perform the task they claim able. But, they are just as likely to fail, while generating side effects that are damaging. Many manufacturers rush a product to market without adequate research and development.

Organic compounds from plants, extracts from fruits, and things like olive oil are the best solutions for natural skin care treatment, but don't be fooled by labels "claiming" to be all-natural. That can pertain to anything derived from the environment and it doesn't mean the ingredients are safe, nor does it guarantee synthetic chemicals were not used to process the ingredients.

Education is the best weapon you have against advertising hype. There are products that provide a more youthful and healthy look at the expense of making your cells more vulnerable to ultra violet rays.

The alpha and beta hydroxyls, for example, are sometimes included in natural skin care treatment. Let's look at what those do. By removing tiny layers of your face, they expose the deeper layers to more UV light and increase the free radical damage that eventually causes wrinkles and even cancer.

Recently, I reviewed some products for sale on the internet that claimed to be all natural skin care treatment. Distilled or purified spring water was the primary ingredient, which is of course harmless. But, several contained a sunscreen that has recently been listed as possibly carcinogenic. It is a naturally occurring substance, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's safe.

The best way to be sure that you are really investing in an all natural skin care treatment is to buy from a company that you can trust. The major cosmetic manufacturers care more about their bottom-line profit than your health, so they use the cheapest ingredients and manufacturing processes. They spend more on advertising than anything else.

They package these ineffective, sometimes harmful compounds in a pretty bottle and get an actor to promote them. There are safe and effective natural skin care treatment products, but you have to do a little searching to find them. Take the time to do it now, for your skin's sake.

Bentonite and Kaolin go deep into the pores to help further dislodge debris and decongest the skin. This is an great treatment for anyone with enlarged pores. Use 1-3 times a week for as little as 3 minutes.

This product is the favorite mask of co-founder Jennifer Flavin-Stallone. Every product has a money back guarantee. Free Samples are available to U.S. residents.

Inexpensive Fresh Handmade All Natural Organic Skin And Body Care

We all want a natural and glowing complexion. Nobody wants lines or wrinkles, or age spots. This is evidenced by the amount of dollar spent every year on cosmetics and miracle creams and lotions. While the cosmetic industry would like you to believe that their product is the "one that works", you can spend a lot of money finding one that truly benefits your particular skin type.

I know that when I walk into a store and shop for a skin care product, I am usually overwhelmed at the selection and the prices. I read the label and read their claims of "no more wrinkles" and "dramatically reduces the signs of aging", etc. then I usually question if it really works. I don't want to spend upwards of $50 and not see any improvements in my skin.

With that in mind, I decided to design a skin care line that is handmade with fresh, natural, organic ingredients. In addition no animal testing involved!

It's important to understand that everything that comes in contact with our body affects our health and the condition of our skin. That's why choosing all natural, organic ingredients in your skin care products is important.

Using fresh all natural, organic ingredients allows me to customize my products for oily, dry and sensitive skin types.

Some common ingredients used in ME! BATH TIME products are cranberry seed oil, emu oil, sunflower oil, shea butter, and green tea. Each of these ingredients brings with them unique characteristics. For example cranberry seed oil has omega 6 & 3 and is a great conditioner for the skin and moisture retention. Emu oil is an effective emollient. Rich in omega 3, 6 & 9 and contains "natural" anti-inflammatory properties that can penetrate the skin. It is an excellent skin hydrator, and can act like collegen, plumping the skin cells with moisture and smoothing out tiny lines. Sunflower oil is rich in vitamin A & E. Helps to moisturize regenerate and condition the skin. Good for mature, sensitive and dry skin.

It is used as a carrier oil to blend with other "pure" essential oils. Shea butter is an "all natural" product and is one of the butters which contain the antioxidant vitamins A, E, and F in abundance. Because of its healing properties, makes it far superior to cocoa butter and other vegetable butters. Shea butter also contains cinnamic acid, s substance that helps protest the skin from harmful UV rays. It is an effective moisturizer because it contains so many fatty acids which are needed to retain skin moisture and elasticity. Green tea a powerful antioxidant and a potent anti-inflammatory agent thereby reducing inflammation in the skin.

Establishing a Cleansing Skin Care Routine

Beauty might just be skin deep, but a skin cleansing ritual can go a long way toward keeping you beautiful. Throughout the day, toxins such as air pollution, along with perspiration and make-up lead to clogged pores. Blemishes are next on the horizon, along with wrinkles and sagging skin. A good cleansing regimen can keep these problems at bay. Here are some principles of cleansing skin care to put your best face forward.

First of all, be careful that you use non toxic skin care products. Do not use skin cleansing products that are harsh or filled with synthetic chemicals. Ingredients like artificial fragrances and parabens can cause allergic irritation. Some experts recommend simply using warm water. Hot water is drying to the skin, and you need all the moisture you can get if you are fighting wrinkles and the effect of aging. Keep your cleansing skin care as simple and natural as possible.

Occasionally, it is a good idea to use an intensive cleansing skin care mask to deep clean the face. A good skin cleansing mask formula will include natural clay ingredients to draw out toxins balanced with natural plant oils, such as macadamia oil and shea butter. Once every two weeks is often enough to apply a mask. Sit back and let it work for about half an hour before rinsing it off with clear warm water. Follow up with an emollient rich night cream formula.

When you choose a mask or a night cream as part of your cleansing skin care routine, look for one that contains several active ingredients that work together synergistically. A good product is made up of at least 50 percent active ingredients by weight. Cheap skin cleansing masks and moisturizers are mostly inactive ingredients with a few molecules of active ingredients thrown in so they can include it on the label!

Never go to bed wearing your makeup. Always include skin cleansing as part of your bedtime routine. When your makeup is removed, apply the same moisturizing night cream mentioned previously. Your skin will benefit by having the entire night to soak up the anti-wrinkle effect of natural healing oils.

Speaking of makeup, an important aspect of cleansing skin care is to make sure your makeup is not outdated and your application brushes are not hopelessly dirty. Makeup brushes can be purchased at any department store, or you can use cotton swabs in a pinch. If you keep track of the date that you opened your makeup, you can be sure to discard it when it begins to get old.

There you have it. Do a thorough skin cleansing daily. Use skin care and cleansing products that are not harsh or chemical based. And by all means remove your make-up as part of your bedtime routine. Following these points is the most effective way to keep your skin looking fresh and healthy.

Healthy Skin Tips For Today's Women

The skin is the reflection of your health and our personality. There is no doubt that the skin is most crucial organ that determines our beauty. Besides esthetical factor, the skin is the largest organ of the body. It is linked to all vital functions of the body, and serves numerous functions. It plays a role of protection and exchange.

Everyone would like to have fair skin. However, the ideal skin is rare and natural. I don't know for men, but women know the importance of radiant skin. For a woman, being uncomfortable in her own skin is like carrying a cross. Perfect skin does not exist. Even when the appearance is superb, skin always has a small frustrating detail. Either it is too dry or too oily, or it is covered in dark spots or it streak of couperose. The skin is a living organ changing from season to season, depending on age, hormonal fluctuations, diet and your lifestyle

Real beauty shines through a look, a smile, an attitude. It is also expressed through the state of the skin. Unfortunately, over the years, the skin begins to lose its freshness. Even before the wrinkles begin to appear, you may notice spots, rough texture or uneven complexion: fine lines, dark under eye circle, etc.

What can you do?

Contrary to what most people think, having beautiful skin is not waking up one day and using an antioxidant cream for a couple weeks. You need to practice healthy lifetime habits to keep your skin looking soft, smooth and radiant. The following are some of those habits:

Nutrition - A healthy diet has a positive effect on the aging of the skin. To resist the signs of time and ageing, skin must be properly hydrated and nourished. while creams and masks can help, good health of the skin starts with a healthy diet. Eat lots of foods providing oligo-elements, vitamins A, E and C and fatty acids. Eat healthy, make your skin happy! To see the result of your diet, you need to moderate consumption of alcohol and limit sugar intake.

Avoid pollution - The pollution accelerates the aging of the skin. Pollution particles contribute to accelerate the production of the skin free radicals, resulting in skin irritation, tarnished skin and wrinkles. To treat those damages, you need antioxidant creams. When I say, creams, I am not talking about dangerous chemical that will do more harm than good. I meant safe natural antioxidant creams, which can fight against the formation of free radicals, and act as filters between the skin and pollution to ensure a younger skin.

Skin hydration - It is essential to hydrate your skin. Skin hydration is one of the best weapons against skin damages. It helps to preserve the flexibility and firmness of the skin of the face. In addition to the daily use of skin moisturizer, drink plenty of fresh juice; no sugar please. Give yourself a time of relaxation during the day. Many researches confirm that people who have a habit of relaxing in the evening or taking a nap in the afternoon tend to have less wrinkle and suffer less from stress.

Avoid Prolonged Sun Exposure - Protecting skin from the sun helps to preserve its youth. Sun exposure is responsible for nearly 80% of the marks of age! They are mostly UVA that act in this sense. Penetrating deeply into the skin, they promote the release of free radicals. So, to protect your skin during sunshine, apply sunscreen. If possible, avoid all prolonged exposure to the sun, because not only minor damages, overexposed to UVA rays can cause skin cancer.

Avoid Stress for Healthy Skin

Have you ever wondered why your skin looks so dull despite all the skin care products you are using? Are you oftentimes troubled by the excessive oil (or sebum) produced by your skin? Is dry skin one of your primary problems?

Chances are, all of your skin problems are brought about by stress. While it may be true that different people react differently to stress, when we come down on the physiological level, our bodies respond to it in very much the same way.

Stress produces an upsurge in the production and release of adrenaline in the bloodstream. Adrenaline is the hormone responsible for giving you that extra rush of energy in times of crisis or any stressful condition. It works by speeding up your heartbeat, breathing and metabolic rate so that you may be able to respond quickly to whatever it is that may have put your body in alarm mode.

Stress needs to be balanced accordingly. It is necessary that you practice the appropriate relaxation techniques to counter and minimize its ill effects.

Unfortunately, stress brought about by modern living does not give us that much needed rest. Day in and day out, stress is always there with us every step of the way. Stress might follow us from the time we wake up in the morning until the time we are about to retire for the night. At times, stress even follows us in our sleep!

If this scenario fits you to a T, then you might be suffering from chronic stress. Over stressing your system leaves you feeling anxious, tensed and overwhelmed. This may also eventually bring you to various health complications and may interfere with your quest for that radiant complexion you are longing to have.

Let us look at some of the ways stress affects our skin.

. Stress prompts the production of adrenaline. One of the actions of this hormone is to direct blood away from the skin and send it to the muscles for increased strength to deal with emergency situations. However, when stress persists for prolonged periods of time, there is also an extended release of adrenaline. This eventually gives the skin that pale and sallow look.

. It's the eve of a very important occasion and you broke out in spots! Intense emotions like anger, frustration and excitement stimulate the release of certain hormones and enzymes, which activate the overproduction of sebum. This tends to block the pores of the skin and encourage pimples to appear.

. Muscles tend to stiffen and tense as a reaction to chronic stress. This obstructs the normal blood flow to the skin and hinders the process of removing wastes from underlying tissues.

. Under strenuous situations, even the natural process of skin renewal is hampered.

. Chronic stress increases production of the cortisone hormone. This weakens the body's natural defenses and leaves the skin vulnerable to environmental pollutants.

Now you know why your skin refuses to take on that healthy glow despite the tons of skin care products accumulating ever so faithfully in your homes. You might be wondering whether there is something you can do to counter the effects of chronic stress on your skin. Of course, there are! Here are some tips that may help you.

. Let's go natural! There are a number of natural plant (or herbal) relaxants which help relieve stress. These may come in the form of pills, tinctures, decoctions and infusions. Taken regularly, these herbs may help you deal with everyday stress. Some of the herbs which promote relaxation are lavender, chamomile, St. John's wort, skullcap, vervain and wild oats.

. Most importantly, we need to balance stress with the appropriate relaxation techniques. It does not matter which technique you choose, be it yoga, meditation, relaxation response techniques or tai chi; what is important is that you find relaxation to counter the effects of everyday stress.

How To Deal With Big Skin Pores

Having big skin pores is a common issue among those people who are prone to zits or acne breakouts and have an oily complexion. This is the reason why many are opting to undergo treatments or use acne medications that can help minimize the pores. Unfortunately, literally changing the size of your pores may seem a difficult task since many elements can make your pores more obvious.

The size of your skin pores is mainly determined by several factors. These factors could include your genes, hormonal changes, age, oil production, and gender. According to a study, the factors that have the most significant impact on the size of your skin pores are your gender, age, production of excess oils, and hormonal changes.

Despite the fact that many of the factors behind big pores are hard or impossible to control, experts suggest several tips and treatments that can help lessen the appearance of skin pores. These tips and treatments include the following:

  • So as to combat the repercussions of aging on your skin such as large pores, you can try to use facial cleansers and creams that can tone your pores and which, at the same time, aid your skin of the dilemma because of its antioxidants content. Examples of common antioxidants are vitamins A and E.

  • Astringents that are not too harsh on your skin may also help minimize your pores. Toners and astringents can also temporarily remove excess surface oils, resulting into a tighter and firmer looking complexion.

  • Exfoliating treatments such as facial peels and dermabrasion can help remove blackheads and whiteheads since comedones might actually make your pores look bigger. These kinds of treatments also promote skin renewal through peeling, exposing a tighter and younger looking complexion.

  • Acne medications such as salicylic acid and retinoids may also help you in your fight against big pores and acne since these treatments are helpful in getting rid of comedones. Many of these medications can also peel off the top layer of your skin, promoting the growth of a new and tighter looking skin layer.

  • If your pores are enlarged because of stubborn comedones, you can go to a dermatologist and have him extract the blackheads manually. The process may cause discomfort but it's better to let an expert remove the zits than squeezing or popping it since this habit may only cause more infection and scars.

You may not be able to literally minimize your pores but you can certainly lessen their appearance through these medications and treatments. Since big pores are more likely to get clogged with oils and dead skin cells that can cause acne, many acne treatments nowadays also focus on minimizing your pores.

Before you use any potent acne medication to help reduce the size of your pores, it's best to talk to a dermatologist first since these medications may cause unwanted effects. Never expect any overnight miracle since it will take time before your pores could respond to some kinds of medication.

Coffee Facial Mask for Clear Skin

I've recently gotten into the caffeine craze. Remember, caffeine has been indicted to the skincare hall of fame. Naturally, I just had to play around with it. And so, I've come up with this wonderfully scrumptious facial mask. It works wonders on my skin. I can really see the difference after the mask. My skin actually glows and it was baby smooth to the touch. Absolutely delightful!! Plus the aromatic coffee scent lingers long after the mask is removed. Another plus point, you're actually using used finely ground coffee, simply collect the used coffee after your morning coffee.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons of used finely ground coffee

A small glass of milk

Directions

1) Add the used finely ground coffee into a bowl. Stir in milk until it achieves a think texture. Mix the ingredients till well blended. Try not to make the paste too diluted or it'll be runny and it's gonna be messy during application. If mixture becomes too runny, simply add a little more coffee into it.

2) When ready, apply the paste onto your face and neck and smooth it out all over your face. Avoid eyes and lips.

3) Slowly massage the mixture to your skin and relax for 20 mins.

4) While washing off the mask, slowly massage the paste to your skin. It acts further as an exfoliator. Don't massage too hard if you have sensitive skin

5) Pat dry face and apply moisturizer while skin is still damp to seal in moisture

Try it, you won't regret it. Remember not to scrub your skin too hard with the coffee grounds though.

Treating Burns

We've all suffered from minor burns from time to time. As long as the burn is minor, it is perfectly safe to treat the problem at home; but you do need to toss out all of the misinformation that you might have.

You've probably been told that if you suffer a burn, the best thing to do is to run to the refrigerator, grab the butter or oleo, and apply a thick coat of either to the burn. This old-fashioned remedy for a minor burn is way off the mark. Butter or oleo will hold the heat in the burn and let the heat cause more damage than it already has caused.

The best thing that you can do for a minor burn is to cool it as quickly as possible. Run cold tap water over the burn or apply ice to the burn. The idea here is to cool it off...and quick. The more quickly you can cool a burn, the less damage that the heat will cause.

To determine if you need to see a doctor about a burn, you must first determine how deep the burn is. Burns are classified according to the depth of the skin damage. Superficial burns are not serious. They are painful, but they are basically only "skin" deep. A mild over-the-counter pain reliever and a couple of days should take care of a minor, superficial first-degree burn.

A second-degree burn is more serious but can usually be treated at home; however, a doctor should be consulted. Second-degree burns usually cause blistering of the skin, and dehydration becomes a consideration. Pain relievers, topical ointments (mostly to prevent infection), and a few days of care will usually be sufficient to treat a second-degree burn.

A third degree burn is much, much more serious than either a first-degree or second-degree burn. The telling fact that a burn is a third-degree burn is that there is no pain. The nerve endings have been destroyed. It is essential that medical help be sought as quickly as possible. Recovery will be long, tedious, and painful.

The Basic Routine of Skin Care For Dry Skin

If you are among those people who have dry skin, you will be anxious to find out ways to keep the skin hydrated for as long a time as possible. The lack of moisture makes the skin care for dry skin a great challenge. Women who have dry skin cannot wear make-up the way they would like to, as this would further sap the moisture from the skin. However, with a little care and a lot of patience dry skin too can be maintained as beautiful and supple as any other type.

The 1-2-3 Method of Skin Care For Dry Skin

Cleanse and exfoliate the skin - the first step in any skin care regime is to clean the skin first. Since the dry skin will have a lot of dead cell accumulation on its surface, side by side with cleansing, it will require exfoliation. Only after the dead skin cells are removed, that any cream make-up can be applied.

Moisturize the skin

Dry skin always lacks in moisture, and thereby crinkling the skin. In order to keep the skin smooth, its skin care dictates to apply a lot of moisturizer. You will observe that in a few hours or so, the moisturizer tends to disappear and your skin becomes dry again. To prevent this, you may like to use a little glycerin; just a few drops can make a huge difference in the locking in of moisture.

Nourishing the skin

The dry skin is always starving. This is why its skin care will have to include a good amount of rich nourishing night cream which will restore its health and keep it nourished. This is best applied at night because at night, the skin is free from any dust and other pollution particles, and it can absorb sufficient nutrition.

Detox Your Skin

The answer is yes, especially if you have problem skin. The skin is one of the body's main organs and can eliminate around 10% of all waste from the body. It does this mainly through sweating, we lose moisture through the skin 24/7 even though we're not aware of it. It's a natural process and of course your facial skin is included in this.

So what is detoxification (detox)? To put it very simply it's "getting the garbage (toxins) out of your body without putting any more in". Toxins can be heavy metals, pesticides, too much vitamin A or chemical residues from the polluted air we breathe or the junk food we eat, which contains sugar salt, artificial colors and flavors.

All these are stored mainly in the fatty tissues of the body and can play havoc with your health if they build up to excess or if you have a sensitivity.

If you suffer with acne, or if your skin is dull, rough or blotchy, a detox could be exactly what you need. Other symptoms of toxic overload can be lethargy and frequent headaches or simply feeling below par. Detoxing will not only help your skin but the other major elimination organ, the liver. In fact your whole system will benefit!

There are as many detox methods as weight loss diets and some of them can be quite expensive! But we don't need to spend a lot of money on detox, it's something we can do ourselves if we know how. So to that end, I'll give you a really simple (& cheap!) detox that you can try.

We are aiming here to rid the body of garbage therefore it's important to make the diet as light and healthy as possible but to have something you can live with for at least 2 weeks. It's no good going on a herbal tea and brown rice diet if you can only do it for two days!

So, to give you some ideas, substitute fish for meat, cut out alcohol, substitute herbal tea for coffee and tea, Cut out rich sauces and all fatty foods, eliminate salt and cut out all foods made with white flour. Yes it sounds painful but put your imagination to work, there are a lot of healthy foods you can substitute with.

Keep up the vegies, try serving them sprinkled with herbs or baking them in a quiche without pastry. Try pumpkin seeds as a snack, they're lovely sprinkled over cereal. Go to a health food shop or even the health section of your supermarket and do some research.

If you have digestive problems, a good detox for you may be cutting out all dairy and wheat products. Try soy milk or rice milk and breads made out of other flours such as rye, rice and soy flours.

Always take in some form of fiber to help elimination. Psyllium is great as it does not cause any food allergies. Start with just one teaspoon and if that causes no bloating or discomfort, increase it gradually.

Think water. It can be spring water, bottled water, filtered or rain water. If your domestic supply is ok, tap water is fine too. Herbal teas are great but read the label, some of them can be quite potent! Fruit and vegetable juices are fantastic but have them instead of a meal, not as an extra. Some of them are quite high in kilojoules.

Some people take supplements when they are detoxing, others don't. I like to take a herb called "milk thistle". It helps the liver to cleanse and heal.

Rapid detoxification can make you feel quite sick and can happen if you jump too quickly into detox from a bad diet loaded with fat sugar and chemical colors and flavors. Try to eliminate the bad foods first and go onto a healthier diet before attempting detox. However if you get mild headaches or experience drowsiness, try to stick with it. It's a sign that you body is eliminating those toxins.

Skin brushing (or dry brushing) can aid the detox process, use a loofah or natural bristle brush and starting from the hands brush the skin gently. Always start from the extremities and work towards the heart or centre of your body. Skin brushing will aid your circulation, remove dead skin cells and make you feel rejuvenated.

Exercise will also help. Exercising will make the body sweat, speeding up the elimination of toxic wastes. No need to run a marathon, do what you enjoy but do it regularly.

You may find your skin will get worse before it gets better, but soon you'll see a clearer more radiant complexion. Acne will improve, your eyes will look clearer and, as a bonus, you may find your appetite decreases and sugar cravings diminish.

Pregnant women should consult their doctor before attempting detox. Young children or sick people should not radically alter their diet in any way. Seek medical advice first.

Just as a thought. It's better to be on a healthy diet most of the time than be on a bad diet and detoxing regularly. It's what we do every day that counts the most. Try to use this detox time to re think your eating habits and lifestyle choices.

How To Lighten Skin Effectively

The dilemma of individuals affected by hyperpigmentation problems lies not only in choosing a good product, but the proper way to lighten skin. A successful skin lightening or whitening regimen does not rely on the products alone. Let me tell you why.

Skin lightening products have grown in demand as the answer for uneven pigmentation such as melasma, age spots, freckles, dark underarms, knees, elbows or inner thighs. Regardless of race or skin color, it concerns a lot of people caused by the skin's melanin content. Melanin, in its simplest definition, defines the color of our skin.

Here are four vital factors to lighten skin effectively:

A good skin lightening product should be safe and potent. Ingredients such as hydroquinone, mercury and steroids are harmful substances, and banned for use in Europe and Asia. Studies showed that hydroquinone is carcinogenic and can cause skin cancer. Although some contain an approved 2% content, cautious people choose not to buy. Mercury, on the other hand, poisons the bloodstream, while steroids cause skin thinning and produces stretch marks. The safer ingredients are natural plant extracts known to deliver good skin lightening results, such as kojic acid (from mushroom), licorice (plant extract), and papain (papaya fruit). Potency is another issue because most commercial products show little or no results, ineffective or just a waste of money.

Choose a sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays, because not all sunscreens block both rays. The UVA rays are responsible for skin cancer, aging and tanning of our skin. The UVB rays burn out skin. Good ingredients are Parsol1789 (at least 3%), Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide or Mexoryl-Sx. The higher the SPF, the better. Wearing sunscreen is a must, whether you're using skin lightening products or not. Avoid overexposure to the sun particularly between 10am-3pm. Remember, sunscreen does not block all UVA or UVB rays. Even in the shade, the sun's rays can penetrate, so it's best to protect your skin physically through hats/sunglasses and long sleeved shirts for extended sun exposure.

Take 500mg Vitamin C supplement daily. A daily dose of at least 500mg ascorbic acid is a powerful antioxidant helps promote healthy skin and inhibits the production of melanin. Others take it with whitening pills, but will take months to see results. Your best bet is an intake of this supplement plus the use of good skin lightening products.

Use your favorite moisturizers with skin lighteners. Exfoliated skin that is resurfaced as a result of the skin lightening procedure needs hydration to give a rosy, whiter effect. Simply use your moisturizers 5-10 minutes after the application of the skin lightening products.

Another alternative to treat dark skin spots is laser treatment but the price tag can cost over a thousand dollars. And expensive skin products don't necessarily imply more effective than the more economical ones. There are safer, cheaper and better ways to do it as described above.

In most Asian, African and Latin American countries, fair skin radiates an aura of sophistication. On the contrary, skin tanning is the opposite trend in the United States. Although skin lightening or bleaching is more criticized in the US, both skin lightening and skin tanning are inclined on the same solutions - even skin tone, higher self esteem, or just aesthetic preferences. Fair women would still stand out than bronzed whites visiting Asian countries. The only real difference lies in one's cultural identity and tradition.

A Chemical Peel Can Make You Look Like A Celebrity In 1 Minute

You see all those beautiful celebrities in TV, movies and magazines and wish you could look just as beautiful as them. Just as beautiful as Jennifer Lopez and Angelina Jolie are.

You think that is impossible, right?

But, what if you could?

Well, it is possible to get that beautiful skin by something called a TCA peel.

Facial peel treatments have been done for almost 4.000 years starting with the ancient Egyptians.

Face peel products these days come as light, medium and deep peels.

The light skin peel products are products based on glycolic. AHA or lactic containing products and light peels can only provide a super-ficial improvement to your skin and gives only a refreshed look.

If you have real skin problems such as acne, wrinkles, coarse/rough/dry skin, crow's feet, deep forehead lines, blemishes, blotches, un-even skin or un-even skin color, liver and age spots then you need a facial peel with something called TCA peel.

This kind of peel has been used for 50 years and is the most effective way of solving your skin problems. Though you may desire repeated treatments with 4 weeks apart then after just 1 face peel you will notice that your skin has improved dramatically.

Wrinkles have softened or disappeared. Acne has been reduced or gone altogether. Blemishes and blotches have improved and also other skin problems will have improved significantly.

How do you use chemical facial peel?

It's quite easy. First you clean you skin and remove excess oil whereafter you apply the solution to the area you wish to treat and after a minute you rinse off with water. You could apply several layers but if it is the first time you use a chemcial peel then start with 10% TCA.

You can repeat a chemical peel every 4 weeks and will get further improvements each time.

If you just start out with TCA peel then just use 10% to see how your skin reacts. If you have sensitive skin or have used Accutane within the last 6 months then 10% TCA is a good starting point in order to make your skin get accustomed to the TCA treatment.

After a peel then your skin will be renewed and look younger and better than your old skin and will actually be slightly thicker than your old skin due to increased collagen production.

When you have used 10% TCA a couple of times then you can move up to 15% for a couple of treatments and later up to 25%. You could go as high as 35% but make sure that you followed the suggested regiment to be absolutely sure that you get the desired results.

It is important that you follow this regimen since a few individuals have sensitive skin and reacts stronger to any peel products. That is entirely avoided if you start at 10% TCA and then slowly build up. This way your skin gets accustomed to the peel and get stronger and then it is entirely safe.

If you go to a skin doctor then you will be charged $700 up to $1.500 for a peeling. To get the maximum effect you need 6 treatments with 4 weeks apart. Your total charge could run up to $10.000 for 6 treatments. And you would still need to get a maintenance treatment once a year or so.

Luckily, you can now get home chemical peel which is also useful for acne treatment in the comfort and privacy of your home for about $10 per treatment. TCA peel is also great for acne treatment and general skin care since it cleans clogged pores and help prevent future acne outbreaks.

Dry Skin Lotion

A wide variety of moisturizing lotions and creams are on the market currently. Some creams are used when the skin is exceptionally dry. These creams can be applied on the wet body after bath and help retain the moisture in the body. Some creams can be applied after drying the body but immediately after taking a bath. These creams retain the remaining moisture in the body and do not allow it to escape soon after the bath.

Body oils can be used when chemical soaps dry the skin further. Body oil can be applied on the wet skin so the moisture is trapped and the skin does not dry too much.

Body lotions and creams can be either oil-based or water-based. Oil-based lotions can be used on parched or overtly dry skin. They help the body retain the lost oils and provide sufficient soothing for the irritation and itching. Creams and lotions that have a base of sunflower or other oils, can also be used in such cases. The thickness of the moisturizing cream depends on the water-oil ratio in the cream. However, it is important to understand that none of these creams or lotions has a long-lasting effect on the dry skin.

Most of the body lotions on the market these days claim to have vitamin E as one of the ingredients. This nourishes the skin and makes it soft and smooth. Water-based lotions used to soothe dry skin usually contain this vitamin base. Another important vitamin contained in most of these lotions is vitamin A. Sunscreen moisturizing lotions can be also used if the person gets exposed a lot to the sun.

We all strive to have that healthy vibrant looking skin. Besides being thin, that is what seems to be portrayed in all the commercials and advertisements. Natural dry skin care tips can help you achieve your goal of looking younger and healthier. Even men are becoming more aware of looking younger. Winter time is a time when your skin can become dry and even cracked or chapped. We often think of summertime as the time in which we get dry skin. Both times can be contributors, but there are some natural dry skin care tips that can help for both seasons.

One of the most important natural dry skin care tips, is to drink plenty of water. Both winter and summer are factors that can dehydrate our skin and cause it to become dry. Wood stoves and other types of heat can cause the home to have low humidity levels which can be very drying to the skin. Hot showers cause the blood vessels to dilate and that results in loss of water, so you need to replenish the moisture in your body by drinking more water. I'll say it again because it is very important, the most important natural dry skin care tips, is to drink lots of water.

There are other natural dry skin care tips such as using honey for a facial. A facial will get rid of the dry skin and allow new skin to grow in its place. You really need to moisturize the skin all over your body as it can become dry everywhere, not just the face and hands. You can also use honey on your legs and hands to get rid of dry skin. Much the same as the facial, let it stand for 10 minutes and then wash off. Natural dry skin care tips such as keeping the lips moist, can help prevent chapped lips. The lips have no oil glands so they can be susceptible to drying and cracking. There are all natural remedies you can use to keep the lips moist.

There are many natural dry skin care tips that work, but another one that might be useful is to be careful when drying with a towel. You can rub hard enough to rub the moisture out of your skin. You should towel blot when ever possible. Make sure you use some type of moisturizer on your face, and neck, and hands morning and night. Natural dry skin care tips will keep your body moisturized and looking vibrant and healthy just like you want to look.
